Y'know, one character that I'm really surprised hasn't been confirmed and that nobody has suggested is Monita from NintendoLand. Not sure what her moveset would be, but logically it makes a lot more sense then Wii Fit Trainer.

When did the game start getting made? Monita might be too new. The roster was probably already decided by that point.
Yeah there's one thing I remember Sakurai saying during Brawl, it was that the roster is decided way ahead of time before the game starts being made. However he can make some last minute additions or subtractions.

It looks like a flat texture, like a Mode 7 background. I wonder how it comes into play in the game... Probably the battles would take place in the sky on a plane.

Yeah he hasn't revealed the real part of the stage you'll be on but you're probably right about the plane thing.

I hope that is actually just a flat texture to mimic the Snes style. I've always loved levels that use the 2d classic sprites like the Mario levels and 75m.

That's actually really cool!
It's weird, but these sort of discrete updates are actually showing a lot of substance to the game. As much as I liked the DOJO, the overhype is showing it's impact now. I'm loving the direction of this one so far!

He still might be unlockable, Sakurai announced Snake and Sonic before the huge group of secret fighters that needed to be unlocked.
Although I wouldn't be surprised if he is on the default roster, his unlocking conditions were usually the easiest anyways.
