RE: TSR PIXELART COMPO VOL. 1: STEAL THIS SPRITE (8/5 - 8/12) - Garamonde - 08-05-2012 Oh snap, I didn't think about that. I'm basing off a 15 x 24 sprite and I drew outlines for a 75 x 69 sprite of the same character, in a different pose. By the way does it have to be in an actual style? Because I don't know much about spriting in a specific style... RE: TSR PIXELART COMPO VOL. 1: STEAL THIS SPRITE (8/5 - 8/12) - SKELTON S. SKELETON - 08-05-2012 No it doesn't. Go nuts. RE: TSR PIXELART COMPO VOL. 1: STEAL THIS SPRITE (8/5 - 8/12) - Gaia - 08-05-2012 Heh, now that's outta the way, I barred myself from using SNES & Genesis Classics/Crapfests as well to make the challenge a little more intresting for me (this bars titles such as Ganbare Goemon, which is a classic, too for the SNES side). For the Genesis side, I'll start hunting once I have my SNES entry finished. RE: TSR PIXELART COMPO VOL. 1: STEAL THIS SPRITE (8/5 - 8/12) - Kami - 08-05-2012 I'm bored so I'm going to give some stuff in yoshi's cookie a graphic overhaul. Hey, this is a cool way to approach things! It's not the only way though, using a game like Super Metroid or Ganbare Goemon may be more interesting as well. Games like that would offer you the chance to really experiment with the design of a character or create an original character using one as a base. Also, if you're broke for ideas, here are some suggestions Ryu Hyabusa (Ninja Gaiden Trilogy) Hagane (Hagane, SNES) Rick Taylor (Splatterhouse III version, Genesis) Castlevania: Bloodlines RE: TSR PIXELART COMPO VOL. 1: STEAL THIS SPRITE (8/5 - 8/12) - Candel - 08-05-2012 is there going to be a time limit for when we submit it? Also after the contest can I put the sprite in the spriting in pixelart for it to be c + c? RE: TSR PIXELART COMPO VOL. 1: STEAL THIS SPRITE (8/5 - 8/12) - SKELTON S. SKELETON - 08-05-2012 the end date is the twelfth of this month, and yes you can RE: TSR PIXELART COMPO VOL. 1: STEAL THIS SPRITE (8/5 - 8/12) - Gaia - 08-05-2012 (08-05-2012, 12:01 PM)MRSKELETON Wrote: Hey, this is a cool way to approach things! Well, I found that Mega Man is a character that's constantly re-imagined awhile back. Took me a good amount of time for me to realize that I need to do something different aside from the usual Mario/Mega Man/Sonic/Bomberman/Popular 3rd Party combo. Though, I had considered looking back at unused ideas during the character's development (Sonic) and adapt them in a way (as in, re-imagine the ENTIRE concept using a rejected idea), as the style I find the most "successful" was origionally meant for the Castlevania series, but expanded to DC superheroes/etc. I did a full run and currently narrowing it down to these games: Bren McGuire (Super Turrican, SNES) Raita (BS Kaizou Tyoujin Shubibinman Zero, SNES) Prince Talmit (Marvel Land / Talmit's Adventure, Genesis) RE: TSR PIXELART COMPO VOL. 1: STEAL THIS SPRITE (8/5 - 8/12) - Gors - 08-05-2012 sticking this thread RE: TSR PIXELART COMPO VOL. 1: STEAL THIS SPRITE (8/5 - 8/12) - NICKtendo DS - 08-05-2012 I'm going to try and turn the dragon mini-boss from Space Harrier 2 into a Sonic 3 mini-boss. Yay segments! EDIT: Progress! RE: TSR PIXELART COMPO VOL. 1: STEAL THIS SPRITE (8/5 - 8/12) - Chris2Balls [:B] - 08-05-2012 Slaughter Sport isn't a great Genesis game. RE: TSR PIXELART COMPO VOL. 1: STEAL THIS SPRITE (8/5 - 8/12) - Virt - 08-05-2012 Did I do it right? (left is original, right is mine) (yes the staff thing is horribly shaded don't mind me) RE: TSR PIXELART COMPO VOL. 1: STEAL THIS SPRITE (8/5 - 8/12) - Hiynastrike - 08-05-2012 I wish to partake in this challenge with *Zelda discovery jingle Moar Maui Mallard hopefully its correctly fallowing the rules of the contest he used to be alive until he took a lit torch into the gunpower storage room RE: TSR PIXELART COMPO VOL. 1: STEAL THIS SPRITE (8/5 - 8/12) - SKELTON S. SKELETON - 08-05-2012 trollerskates pretty good, but i'd like to see you change the design more, hiynastrike can do a lot more than that RE: TSR PIXELART COMPO VOL. 1: STEAL THIS SPRITE (8/5 - 8/12) - Gaia - 08-05-2012 The new sprite on the right serves as a testbed for the pose and style, still using the pallete limitations. Once I figured it out I'm gonna give this design a massive freakin' goddamn, bloody, mofo', sunnuva bitchin' revamp in the design, as I am trying to get in touch with my inner mojo for a full makeover. |
