RE: Kick a bike - Gors - 07-28-2013

this is kinda hard to explain, but when animating things, think in paths.

Paths are 'lines' where the object pass through. For example, if you spin your arm, your hand's path will be a rough circle.

"now what does that have to do with my stuff"

I have made three gifs to aid you, the first being this one:

I've painted a circle over Deadpool's hand (the dark gray ball is the first frame). That will make the perception of his hand's path easier. I don't know if you noticed it but there's a point where the elliptical curve 'trembles' a little. Let me show this one to see if it's easier to understand:

As you can see, his hand is drawing a 'banana' shape when in motion. But before his hand goes up, the ball detracts from the path a little:

my suggestion is to edit his hands a little so that slight curve is fixed. It's not a huge problem as the overall animation is really smooth, but that's literally the only fault I can find.

Oh, thank you for pointing that out. I knew there was something off about the arm movement, but I didn't know what, so I fixed it up that awkward curve movement.

Gladly, I only needed to edit 3 frames, so hopefully the commissioner doesn't minds it. Thanks for the help.

For how long have I been away? I got around working on Deadpool's moonwalking only now because I've been working with many other animations to help a friend of mine who has something on the works (I'm still doing so, actually)

I wanted his elbow to be facing the screen slightly, howeveeer, I'm not sure if I did get it right. Same applies for the hand upon his leg as it moves, I'm not sure if I got it to look natural or not. Criticism is highly welcome on this.

Also, I'll hopefully post something different soon.

try moving the hands back a little, and you can show the elbows' direction by exaggerating shoulder movement, where his torso swings facing towards/away from the camera to show the arms' angle compared to the torso. similar to the forward walking animation, essentially.

I applied a slight turn to his moonwalking in here. Do I keep it like this or leave it still like before?

Here's a WIP, uhuhuhuh.

Yes, I stopped wearing caps I'm kinda wondering if I should make an extra color for the jacket sleeves. Like, yeah, they are intended to be in that color, but it might be blending way too much with the rest. And, I'm unsure about the hair style I came up with in here, since it might seem a little too typical.

Also, wooden desks are confusing.

I think I over did it with the desk brightening.

It does looks a little better without it, but I think it looks a little dull in a way. How does wooden desk shading works anyway?

RE: Kick a bike - Quotient - 09-07-2013

The brightening looks better in my opinion, and I like the variety of colors very much. I'm terrible with texture, though, so I can't really answer that question.

RE: Kick a bike - SchAlternate - 09-08-2013

I think it looks better without the extra brightening.

Aaaaaaaaah, I feel unsure.

RE: Kick a bike - Gors - 09-08-2013

personally i don't like the bright parts on the table.

as for the outlining, i think it's kinda blurry and filled with too much AA and selout. I think that the teeth are too overshaded too. In shape, they're kinda 'flat', like a 'blade', but you shaded them as if they were all 'cylinders'.

Oh god, it feels so good to remove the brightening. Also, happy birthday to me.

Wow, I feel so slow.

RE: Kick a bike - MikeDH720 - 09-14-2013

I think with your Deadpool you need to increase the contrast of the shades of red you're using. I'm also uncertain of your light source. It seems inconsistent.

RE: Kick a bike - Lexou Duck - 09-14-2013

[Image: 5nyT5BN.png] this frame in the old walk animation is weird, it makes his leg jump way more than necessary
