Nice job slowing down the animations.. -.-

I agree with Shawn, the sprites really are genuinely ugly. Every character featured has looked SOOO much better in other actual Gameboy games they've appeared in. Granted, there are some issues due to resolution limitations in order to You know what? Nevermind that, I counted the pixels in terms of height, it's not THAT far off from a readable official mario sprite and this garbage.

Sure, YOU guys know what it is you are looking at, but think about it as if you AREN'T you, you're somebody who only VAGUELY knows these characters because of their notoriety as popular game characters. You could recognize them with a clear thing of official artwork if you had to, but you are also unaware of the concept of Super Smash Bros. Do you really think these sprites are THAT good? REALLY?

They may not be amazing but they're alright because the creators might of wanted it to loom like that just so it looked old school.

I don't even care about the character models.. the backgrounds and stages are awesome.. and character portraits. those are what look really good for GB.

I'm not saying they're the bee's knees. I'm saying they serve their purpose just fine, and saying ask someone not me if i notice who they are, Kirby is clear as day, pikachu is obvious, Link is pretty obvious, the only one who might get a little trouble is mario.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all about this thing conceptually, I just really, REALLY think they could use some cleaning up of their characters. I mean, in that idle pose that Shawn zoomed in on he almost looks like a big-handed wizard in a crescent shaped hat.

A kid from school posted this on my wall the otherday, I only toyed with it a little bit. It seems kinda fun, I'll have to spend more time with it, but I have to agree the pixelart is just ugly and rather disappointing.

haha megaman is so freaking powerful

RE: Super Smash Gameboy (Holy shit I wish this was online) - LeleleleMAXIMUM - 09-15-2011

Pikachu is the ugliest, imo. And the large character art is traced?
Anyway, still pretty cool.

So are the unlockables unlockable? I was checking the forums the guy was from and he said it was done and in a couple of months would edit in an add a character thing, one guy was making Isaac from Golden Sun and it was actually pretty good, but can you get megaman?

RE: Super Smash Gameboy (Holy shit I wish this was online) - Rosencrantz - 09-15-2011

I just unlocked Megaman

Get a score for the four original characters and he's yours~

Still trying to figure out who the other secret guy is :F

Schweet, getting a score with Mario shall suck, but damn megaman would be sweet.

I am a bit disappoint by the final character, but since he is making a way to add your own characters, I will restrain myself.
Don't get me wrong, the character is very strong, but it is pretty out there...

whuttttttttttt Blank
I thought they were pretty nice and fitting.
EDIT:
(09-15-2011, 10:54 AM)Kat Wrote: That is pretty cool but I don't think Nintendo would ever bring it to a portable system (Except maybe the 3DS, but it wouldn't surprise me with how far downhill that gamesystem is going for them to try and bring games they know that everyone will probably buy) and honestly I'm not going to expect one until they come with one out of left field or until the WiiU comes out.

Also whats with this Kat..the system is doing fine, and whats the jab with games?

Well gee, if they needed an $80 price cut before the system was even out for a year, that kinda says a thing. Don't get me wrong I love my 3DS and the game that are on it/coming on it, but you can't say that Nintendo isn't having some issues selling it to a wider range of people.
