RE: Terraria - Kitsu - 05-29-2011

Notch is not generally a very smug guy.

Nearly half of his IGF/GDC awards "speeches" were him saying he didn't deserve the awards.

The other half were him saying that indie games like his are better than industry AAAs

RE: Terraria - LeleleleMAXIMUM - 05-29-2011

methinks the "takes notes to copy" makes it sound sarcastic

RE: Terraria - tgb621 - 05-29-2011

I am most definitely going to be reskinning this. I might make it look more like minecraft, but idk what i should do. I reeeeally hate how silver texture = stone texture and I don't even own the game!

RE: Terraria - GaryCXJk - 05-30-2011

Fun note, apparently Notch is too busy playing Terraria to work on Minecraft.

RE: Terraria - SKELTON S. SKELETON - 05-30-2011

so? it's notch's game, he can take a break whenever he wants

RE: Terraria - Woppet* - 05-31-2011

Not when we all paid for the game while it was in Alpha with the promise of regular free updates until the final game is released.

RE: Terraria - SKELTON S. SKELETON - 05-31-2011

The games been updating pretty regularly as far as I can tell. You willingly bought a game that wasn't in finished condition that was being made by an amateur developer. I would much rather have notch be taking a break rather than being burnt out.

RE: Terraria - Woppet* - 05-31-2011

Every update he makes breaks the game.
And all he ever adds in any more is the occasional new block which im pretty sure you could train a monkey to code in one afternoon.
I'm not saying he should work his bollocks off. But he should work at least a little. Which isn't evident in the updates we get.

Anyway back onto the subject of Terraria.
Fret, did you get any further in your reskin?

You're basically saying "he can break the game whenever he wants", which is all the time.

Also, still waiting for a mod loader to appear. Any mod loader. I have some ideas for new ideas and stuff.

No I'm not, see words have meanings when you string them together; the meaning doesn't change based on the subjective ideas of another person, unless I'm doing some trick in grammar.
Now I know what you mean, and that's cool that you're trying to throw a wrench in my judgement here but
no, no that's not what i'm 'basically saying' notch never promised anybody every update would be without fault; that every update would completely
change the way the game is played.

I haven't really witnessed the game being 'broken' in any aspect. It's still as fun to play as it was when it first came out, even more so with the multitude of possibility that the game has now just in survival mode.
Notch's company is no longer working on just one title, either, which means they have to split the available workload.

You're complaining about something that ultimately, will not majorly effect you. Eventually, whatever is wrong with the game will be ironed out.

As for infrequent updates, we've been getting just about one major update every month, with several smaller updates and bug fixes almost immediately. For instance; the May 26th update added a bunch of stuff, but also created a bunch of bugs, he took only five days to iron most of them out.

Only one person from Mojang is working on that game. (And it isn't notch)
And when has it ever been stated it will be larger than Minecraft?
