RE: Rev Up Those Sonic Cycles - Dazz - 10-31-2011

Oh I didn't think they were new tracks, I thought they were just tracks from the game. There are red rings in levels that unlock extras, like character bios, pictures, and tracks.
I just find those boring, to be Frank, with regards to actual game content.

Spoilers, but the final cutscenes justify the $50 if you're a longtime fan of the series.

RE: Rev Up Those Sonic Cycles - Cobalt Blue - 10-31-2011

you mean $30.

although its pretty much clear this game, as rokkan said early, is prety much fanservice.

Fun game so far, although I've run into a few bugs. First one was half of Green Hill Zone turning invisible, the other was the camera freaking out in Speed Highway. That aside, I'm loving the boss fights.

RE: Rev Up Those Sonic Cycles - Keychain - 11-01-2011

Comes out in like 2 days for me because I pre-ordered on Steam. Wink

Aaaand of course the pessimist sonic "fans" will latch on to these minor glitches and blow them out of proportion calling the game shit. Been going on since 2004, they're never satisfied.

Ah, yes. Just like what happened to Sonic 2006. What an injustice.

Hmm? Oh no, the Sonic 2006 hate is justified. There are some people who lump it in with non-crap such as Unleashed though, which is sad.

Anyways, Generations is looking to be the best "modern" Sonic game I've ever played, though SA2 is still my favorite of all time. The way they handled Modern Sonic in particular was interesting... it's like a mix of Unleashed and Adventure, because there are some spots where you're NOT boosting in a straight-away or stuck in a 2D plane. They really tried to incorporate the three eras both in concept and execution.

Hopefully though after this they move on to greener pastures, I.E. work on a new gameplay style. Next gen will be coming next year with the Wii-U, and possibly 2013 with the PS4 and Next Xbox.

I hear they might be releasing a third storybook game for the Wii though...
Honestly I dunno what to think about that. Black Knight was better than Secret Rings though, so I guess it couldn't hurt?

Half of a level vanishing isn't exactly "minor."

I think it's because of Sonic's forgetfulness, that the level vanishes. The levels are his memories anyways. =P

No but really, it's hardly minor in my opinion...

RE: Rev Up Those Sonic Cycles - Baegal - 11-01-2011

Just got it today, and I'm impressed. It's not perfect (the physics are a little too loose when it shouldn't be), but it's definitely a step forward IMO.
Personally, my favorite part of the cutscenes is the dialogue. Even if a game isn't included, generations finds a way to include it; the dialogue is full of fanservice!

My favorite levels were Rooftop Run and Seaside Hill. They were definitely the most fun. Even though I did love speed highway, it was very stop and start in a lot of places, while the other two levels ran real smooth.

I do have to say the challenges are a little stupid. While there are a few that are very interesting, most of them are "Get to the goal in time using rings, smash, light dash, etc.!"

All in all, I'm happy :]

RE: Rev Up Those Sonic Cycles - Cobalt Blue - 11-01-2011

orders pc version, peacefully waits for patches to be relased.

RE: Rev Up Those Sonic Cycles - Cell Shaded Envy - 11-01-2011

I was playing Classic City Escape and I saw a missing poster for Ray the Flying Squirrel and Mighty the Armadillo that says "Missing Since 1993". I love you SEGA.

RE: Rev Up Those Sonic Cycles - Kriven - 11-01-2011

RE: Rev Up Those Sonic Cycles - Vipershark - 11-02-2011
