Um but back to Sonic, its unsettling to hear that only the Sonics will be playable. I think Sega got the wrong idea when fans complained about all the characters. What we really hated was all the different game modes for the characters.

The only playable character is Sonic again?
wth I wanted to play as Tails,Knuckles and Shadow I:C
What if, when you play as them, they play the same as Sonic just that their stages are different, and they have different abilities?
Tails could fly.
Knuckles could glide and punch rocks, if I recall Knuckles was able to break rocks just by walking through them in S&K.
and Shadow could probably do some chaos type attack, like he could use this midair short chaos barrier? I dunno.
Also it would be really nice to have Tails by Sonic's side again like in the classic games.

Oh man, I remember that. She was undoubtedly the cheapest character in the game just for that, ESPECIALLY on the bosses. I didn't even realize how difficult some of the bosses (looking at you instakill glove...) were until I used Sonic to go unlock everything.

No Cream was well-liked by many, not just me. I don't care what anyone says about Silver either he's the coolest.
And TBH the reason I love Cream wasn't for her abilities but rather for her. She's a cute little bunny with a cute little Chao.

Cream was awesome when she first debuted, and really had a retro-Sonic feel. She managed to keep it solid through the Advance and Battle games as well, and was pretty cool in Heroes, despite that game's flaws. She only started falling apart later on, when the rest of cast began shitting as well. Although lately she's been takking more of a support role, and I don't like it 3:

What is on these scans:
- 3DS version is completely different from the 360/PS3 counterparts
- 3DS version will be made by Sonic Team and (ugh) Dimps
- 3DS version will have Green Hill, Casino Night (3DS exclusive) and, apparently, Launch Base
- SONIC 3'S FINAL BOSS
- 3DS version will have Special Stages - they follow the Heroes model (chase an Emerald, etc). Although that might be just for Modern Sonic, and Classic Sonic might have a different Special Stage of its own.

Sonic doesn't need more that just Sonic.
Tails or Knuckles are tolerable, sure.
Every other one (excluding Robotnik) aren't important in the slightest.
Especially something as horrible as Shadow or Silver.

Silver's the best character in the series and I want to play Sonic '06 to use his psychic powers. You will never make me believe he is bad.
Also, if it weren't for other characters, the Sonic series would be very bland.

One is a hedgehog who contains the very energies of the Chaos emeralds within himself and is immortal. He is dangerous and highly volatile due to terrible circumstances of his only friend being murdered right in front of him.
Another is a hedgehog from a future that may or may not happen and has psychokinesis and the ability to travel through dimensions and time.
These two characters are bad...why again?

Okay, well lets never add more characters to a series and just let it become stale :p
Personally, I think a lot of Sonic characters COULD have been done without, but not purely because there would be too many characters, though that's part of it, but they aren't done well. Some were just overused and not done well in consecutive games.
Shadow for example was, in my opinion, really neat in Sonic Adventure 2. And then he died. Then they brought him back in Heroes. So I think, okay I can deal. Than we find out there's a bunch of Shadow clones or androids or whatever. Not necessary, but okay. Than we have Shadow the Hedgehog at which point most everyone even cared about Shadow's backstory even a little were found the turn of events so random that they really wish his story was left untold like say every other characters' story in the series (Not counting the comics). Sonic 06's story... lets pretend it never happened, especially since it literally undoes itself anyway.
Though personally in a Sonic game I could care less about the story and be happy. As for how the characters play out, they add variety to the gameplay though sometimes most of the time nowadays Sonic Team perverts the gameplay of other characters into another style of game completely. I am completely fine with having the option to go "huh, I wonder how this level plays someone who can fly" or something. I actually would love to see a return of the Sonic Advance 3 character system as a gimmick simply for that reason.

Shadow was a great character when he was first introduced, back in SA2. It wasn't until Sega started milking him like Wolverine that he became lame.
Silver was never cool, right down to his design. Also, his introduction and backstory completely disregards Blaze the Cat's previously established continuity as being from a parallel universe, not the future.
