RE: TSR PokeDex Project - Teabagger9777 - 05-12-2011

The only thing is dung beetles are not considered cute animals.

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - LeleleleMAXIMUM - 05-12-2011

mice aren't cute, either.
neither are caterpillars and ladybugs.

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - Teabagger9777 - 05-12-2011

Thwy are considered gentle creatures not neserserily cute.

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - Chaoxys - 05-12-2011

It doesn't matter, part of making a pokemon is making it different from it's re life counterpart, not just in terms of design but overall feel.

Also, for the dung beetle, what if it had a clown type element mixed in? It would be different and could probably work is done correctly (this is based on if it's design works like Koopaul suggested).

The reason I thought it would be cute is because I always thought the idea of rolling things around was pretty adorable, even if it was poop. Then I also thought about circus performers who balance and ride a rubber ball. A typical insect-like bug couldn't pull that off.

Like that Mime Jr. Game in the Wi-Fi club?

poop might be weird in the pokemon universe. i'm not sure i've ever seen it mentioned.
but i think the idea could work, just change the poop.

Actually there HAS been a reference. IN HG/SS the lady that sells mulch says " It's full of nutrience an pokemon's... You know"
Or something like that.

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - Garamonde - 05-14-2011

Also let's not forget the JP version of the anime where Oak's all "that's fossilized Pokemon dung!" Sick

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - Devicho - 05-14-2011

Maybe it could push around a small boulder and be a bug/rock type. With beetles having shells and all I can see it having defensive typing.

The Face Trio, Mood Trio or Mask Trio (Emotion Pokémon was already taken by Mesprit)

Optimedy (Optimism+Comedy)
Type: Fire/Ghost
Good Mood Pokémon

It startles people and Pokémon with an eerie laugh. It then leaves a feeling of happiness in their hearts.

Charody (Chaos/Charade+Parody)
Type: Grass/Ghost
Chaotic Pokémon

It finds joy in the misery of others. Its victims are subjected to bumping into walls and tripping to amuse him.

Pessigedy (Pessimism+Tragedy)
Type: Water/Ghost
Bad Mood Pokémon

It's crying causes shivers to run down one's spine. That causes the mood to fall in ruin, even for the greatest of optimists.

For the dungbeetle, I already had a Rock in mind before I drew Dunscamon. I think the "ball" has to be something it can feed off or feed to its offspring, like the original dungbeetle. Hence the nutricious "dirt" in my drawing and the Ground type.

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - Baegal - 05-15-2011

they show promise, I like the ideas, but the names are barely pronounceable. No-one would pronounce the name "pessigedy" right on their first try. I say we do designs first, names later.

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - Teabagger9777 - 05-15-2011

I like the designs but I think Baegal is right the names are quite hard to pronouce.

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - Devicho - 05-15-2011

I don't know, I worked out a pronunciation easily enough. Also, think of Pokemon like Cofagrigus. I still don't even pronounce that like it's really supposed to be said.

That's just my two cents, though, and if better names are thought of I'm all for changing them.

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - Koopaul - 05-15-2011

I feel that the best names should be fun and easy to remember. Squirtle isn't the most "creative" name ever but it works. It's fun and easy.

I want our Desman to be called "Mozzle"

Mole + Nozzle

It is not overly contrived, its simple and cute! Mozzle!
