RE: TSR PokeDex Project - mutantyoshi - 05-08-2011

Posiden, a sea goat? No, because Posiden was the maker of horses (dont ask me why, talk to the Greek mythologists), so if we do those gods and we make them animals then Posedon will most def an horse. For Zuse, maybe a shape shifter, since Zuse had many flaws, and to sleep with women not gods he transformed into animals...one case he turned into a ox, another case I believe he turned into a swan. One more case he transformed into a golden rain that fell upon a woman and 9 months later, BOOM! baby.

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - Garamonde - 05-08-2011

I think we need to just kinda agree on something because this isn't going anywhere. In all honesty, I was all for the muses which was my favorite of all the ideas but then they started getting worse no offense with all the ideas and arguing about warriors and the change in designs.

TBH I don't want to feel like we're forced to make Greek god Pokemon (as awesome as that'd be) because we're making a game based on Greece. How about we just decide between the rock paper scissors thing (which didn't quite work out), the science and magic thing, or the Greek god thing as our trio? (But were science and magic going to be part of the trio or just two legendaries?)

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - Koopaul - 05-08-2011

Well the Muses were a Legendary trio while the Science/Magic ones were mascot Legendaries.

I think we need to just decide on what are mascots are going to be for now eh?

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - Chaoxys - 05-09-2011

I had a thought actually, and it's somewhat based on Koopaul's idea. In the games, Pokemon are generally shown as being innocent for the most part, where as humans are generally the problem. What if their was a single pokemon that chose to give up it's heart to become invincible, much like Koopaul said (in the sense that "no heart=no hurt"), but the heart, instead of being a physical heart, took the form of a new pokemon, a more pure version of the original legendary, while the heartless version turned into a much darker, somewhat twisted version. That gives us 2 legendaries right there, one that represents the purity, another that represents corruption (in a sense), and when they come together, instead of combining the two legendaries, it reforms the original one as a new entity (this would be the Rayquaza/Giratina/Kyurem of the group).

Either way, in the versions, it would still stand to reason that you could only hurt one pokemon if you have it's missing side, so it still follows Koopauls idea to a certain degree, it just takes a slightly different approach to it by making it so that not only would the enemy team be to blame, but so would the legendary pokemon itself.

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - NICKtendo DS - 05-09-2011

How about for the Pokemon of Science and Pokemon of Magic there would be a third that is the Pokemon of Heart.
The Pokemon of Heart is based on the compromise between magic and science and is able to give heart to both titans, calming them down.

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - Garamonde - 05-09-2011

So it'd be like Groudon Kyogre and Rayquaza, right? Three mascots? But we wouldn't have a third version would we?

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - NICKtendo DS - 05-09-2011

Spechart (Spell+Mecha+Heart)
Type: Psychic/Fight
Warrior Pokémon

When Zerkana and Tanium fought at the cost of their people, the two clans joined forces and created the key to stop the titans' endless battle.

Spechart represents Heart, which is absent in Zerkana and Tanium. Being part Fight type he has elemental advantage over both titans, but due to its Psychic type 1x resistant to both types.
While Team insertnamehere tries to control either titan, the three emotion Pokémon appear to enable that control, but in reality just awakens it. Spechart senses the (ab)use of the Emotion Trio and appears at the scene. Being the key to control the titans, Team insertnamehere tries to capture him instead. He defeats the Team with ease and challenges the chosen one, the one with a heart that might control the titans for the purpose of good, you.

The design is inspired by Nights from SEGA's franchise of the same name, Robot Boy and XJ-9. A sleek, futuristic design with a hint of magic (look at the cape Surprise ). You can see he has a crystalline heart where there is a hole in the two other titans.
This Pokémon teaches it's better to work together rather than to compete and is a symbol of peace, especially in region insertnamehere. This Pokémon is therefore revered by many people for generations.

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - Baegal - 05-09-2011

TBH I don't really like the design. The mascot legendaries are supposed to look powerful, mighty, and legendary. I mean look:

[Image: images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQAsnEPSgyIZEtvz-ElKO8...uI9gXA&t=1]
All of these legendaries look ancient and mystic. All design's we've had now look either too geometrical (simple designs) or just don't seem to fit. I feel like I'm not making much sense now, but I hope somebody understands what I'm trying to say and can find a better way to word it.

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - Koopaul - 05-10-2011

You just mean for the legendaries right? Because i think we have great designs for our other Pokemon.

But yes, legendaries need to look beastly.

I think I got that right with Neshdah and Rasiris (though the designs could use some work).
The huge difficulty with this concept is that these Pokemon are man-made, unlike Mewtwo, who is a clone, Porygon that was programmed rather than built and Genesect who is mechanically enhanced.
Even for the Pokemon created by magic it would suggest it was created by the concept of man rather than built on a preexisting skeleton like the aforementioned Pokemon (except Porygon, which is actually based on origami).

I also would like to point out that my Scarab concept was completely overlooked and ignored due to this whole legendary discussion.

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - Sketchasaurus - 05-11-2011

In regards to the dung beetle, its shell looks too metallic and "techy" IMO. you could try making its exoskeleton wrap more around the body and have a sort of crusty texture.

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - NICKtendo DS - 05-11-2011

I could alter the design of the shell, but the metallic appearance was chosen purposly as a reference to golden scarabs found in pyramids (as jewelry or treasure or something).
I could add some fur aswell.

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - Koopaul - 05-11-2011

I thought it would be neat if the dung beetle was actually a cute bug Pokemon like Volbeat/Illumise. It would stand on top of the ball of dung dirt and ride it like this

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - mutantyoshi - 05-11-2011

Not sure if I should post this now, but I don't want to forget it so I"ll just do it now.

The swordfish that Koopaul posted, maybe it's pre evolution should be based on the alligator gar? It will be different, as having a snout and jaws instead of a saw with teeth on it, and the gator gar will also have scales.

But because they are both two different fish, it might not...flow well...

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - Koopaul - 05-11-2011

I was thinking that could be a single evolution. Every generation has them.
