RE: TSR PokeDex Project - Chaoxys - 04-14-2011

Idk, it seems a bit random, that or like a reference to the lava lotus from SMW.

Either way, if we do a plant/fire, it seems like it should be related to something from irl, like a forest fire or something, although I'd have to see some designs before I can make my final say since a volcanic plant could end up looking rather good.

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - Garamonde - 04-14-2011

I have a rough idea in my head, I'll see if I can draw it out decently.

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - Chaoxys - 04-14-2011

So I was wondering, should we sum up all the newest designs and see which we should make official in terms of what will be/won't be in the final part of the project. I figured we should do it now since theres already a lot of designs up in the air and picking them now would be good as apposed to waiting till we have even more.

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - Wes - 04-14-2011

Some more sketches of the candies. I don't really care which ones we use since it seems the jawbreaker is the most popular evolution, we could go with just him that's cool with me. Or take bits of the older designs and these.

Added wrapper arms to the first form, and made him cuter with chubby cheeks and little swirls on them (the swirls are kind of a motif now). Lollipop is now a rounder kind instead of the flat ones. I think the band makes him look like a fighter more, which fits his type (plus the fists are more of a fighting thing that claws). Jawbreaker kind of remains the same. The reason I wanted to make him lopsided (one arm/leg/eye bigger) is because jawbreakers are usually pretty large, too large to suck on all at once. Normally people lick one half of it first, which makes it lopsided. I thought it was a cool idea, but its up to you guys. But I added the broken teeth, I think it fits perfectly. Then I kind of completely redid the cotton, just tossing ideas out there. he's now a quadrupedal monster thing. I dunno, this design was harder to do. Maybe just two evolutions would be better? Or some other sweet besides cotton candy?

Honestly, the jawbreaker looks like some kinda berserker Jigglypuff. That cotton candy guy however looks amazing. With a little tweaking here and there, I think it could be a great evo.

EDIT- Oh wait, Jawbreaker looks like a Tank (L4D) Jigglypuff hybrid.

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - Garamonde - 04-14-2011

I think the little candy with the wrapper arms is perfect. Smile

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - Koopaul - 04-14-2011

I don't know if this guy should have more than two alternate evolutions. Just one based on hard and one based on soft. That lollipop seems unnecessary.

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - Garamonde - 04-14-2011

Maybe the lollipop can be a related but separate Pokemon!

Honestly, it's design/concept jsut doesn't seem to work. Out of all of the designs, it just looks like a sucker with a face. I have to agree with Koopaul, stick with the other two and it's good to go.

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - Koopaul - 04-14-2011

This is pretty crappy because I whipped it up fast, but it gets you an idea of how this guy can mimic the Pokeball.

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - Wes - 04-15-2011

Do we really need to have the candy mimic a Pokeball though? The idea isn't really a staple of every generation (like the starters, electric rodent, normal/flying bird), its only in Gens 1 and 5. Plus, he's already mimicking an item, a Rare Candy. What if you see an item on the ground and click A. Textbox appears that reads "You found a Rare Candy......" then hit A again to scroll to the next screen "The Rare Candy attacked!" Having it look like 2 items (Rare Candy and Pokeball) seems kind of redundant to me.

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - NICKtendo DS - 04-15-2011

The design of the candy is getting better, but I believe the Pokéball pattern doesn't have to be too obvious. Like Voltorb/Electrode it could be part red, part white.

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - Teabagger9777 - 04-15-2011

what do u think of my new dersigns for the paleo pokemon
Paleot
Palestar
Paleoking
These are only drafts
wat about an nitendo ds pokemon
there is a nitendo wii in the main characters bedroom so why can't there be a nitendo ds pokemon

Maybe there could be a african wild dog pokemon

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - Wes - 04-15-2011

I like the idea of prehistoric plants instead of animals, but right now the second and third forms just look like Primeape without the nose.

I remember someone suggesting a Rotom form where he took control over a Nintendo DS. We could do something along those lines, but what would the secondary type be?

RE: TSR PokeDex Project - Teabagger9777 - 04-15-2011

it would be a nitendo wii
