There, now has better contrast with the grass, water and dirt.
I shortened the use of colours becasue you had countless shades that were all similar.
Didn't edit anything (except the water) and I would've helped with the dirt
but I don't even know how to dither myself
Oh, and wanted to say the grass is shaded more like water than grass.

RE: Stages/Levels* - Alpha Six - 01-09-2011

That's looking much better now, but it still has the same problems as the original.

RE: Stages/Levels* - ClashX - 01-09-2011

BTW clash, your line arts are great, but your choice of color and shading needs some work. It seems as though there are too many colors on that Battlefield.

Now that I look back, that lineart is horrible and we've all probably greatly improved our spriting skills since then. I might actually redo the whole FD some time soon.

edit: sorry copied the wrong link lol

RE: Stages/Levels* - ThePortalGuru - 01-10-2011

Likin' that new lineart, Reap, but please edit the post so that people don't have to copy-paste the link to see the picture.

This really needs to be shaded rather than dithered.

To be honest i think the FD should just be completly redone like iceman said, on the second one i think the lines should be worked out more before the color is added (or at least shading)

I decided to go ahead and make a sample texture since I didn't like the original.
What do you guys think?

RE: Stages/Levels* - Alpha Six - 01-10-2011

We're getting there, but the rocks should be a lot larger. They shouldn't look like they would crumble at the slightest touch, especially considering it's a floating platform. You've got the right idea though, so hopefully that'll bring in some good fixings.

RE: Stages/Levels* - McMaxxis - 01-10-2011

For the dirt, I like it. But like Tyvon said. But maybe Not as rocky/crumbly, I enjoy the grass very much, though
