For future reference, skitgames, posts like this are more suited to Personal Messages; you could ask more politely and directly that way. I've edited your post to hide the entirety of what you're requesting, since it's not really fit for discussion, but since you're new I'll leave the post for D.moffet to do with what he wants, whether it be personal message you or reply in this topic. Please don't advertise, either. Thanks!

very sorry about that I was not quite sure of the policies here but I saw the amazing work people were doing and just thought some one might be able to help me with my game.

Just read the rules and you'll get along fine, skitgames.

RE: all my loz sprites - skitgame's - 01-14-2010

The wizzrobes are realy good and i don't see much that could be added or changed But,
if you wanted to you add somewhat of a dance that he does like in windwaker before disapearing.

I finally zoomed in to take a look, and I think I see where the pillow shading / flat comment comes in:

Just a quick paintover to illustrate the point. By no means do I believe my change is right, it's is simply an example. Your arms are spreading out to the sides and slightly back, but from your side views, the detail is lacking that the arms aren't completely straight. Moreover you have 2 pixel rows of dark colors at an angle being taken up to amplify the color border, when only 1 of a slightly darker color is really needed.

Take a look at the spear moblin rip on the site and look how the arm only uses 1 slightly darker color to separate the shoulder from the head. You get the illusion of a shoulder via the 2 stray pixels jutting out from the top and bottom. The arm is mostly a flat color because it's essentially flush with the perspective. Your arm which is actually at an angle toward the viewer is missing the armpit detail to break the flat region from the torso.

A lot of your Wizzrobe sprites have that extra band of dark / almost black color on the top. While it helps to accentuate color difference where the hue is close, some of the areas seem overdone (like the black outline on the hat instead of a darker value outline, using black to show overlap; and the arms raised from the front where it only really needs to assist the hands and the wrist). For another example - Link (no cap), there's no black outline on his hair. Even when he's wearing a cap, the black outline is only where his hat is shown to overlap the same color or show extra depth where it's hanging low. Vaati Minish has a broken black line for his hat, but it sticks completely straight up when you're looking at it (at least in the rip sheet), unlike your wizzrobe's hood.

Still a very well done sprite overall.

okay i understand what your saying but this one wasnt really made as a minish cap sprite i made it for a diff style this post if for all my loz sprites and for the arms they were suppost to look like they were going straight back because they where but i can also see how tht would confuse ppl but remember these are edits of another sprite so i tried to stay with tht sprites body style....im going to edit them agian and do all the things you said i should do so we can see how they turn out k Wink

RE: all my loz sprites - Dire - 01-15-2010

I didn't intend for the references to the minish cap sprites to be a style suggestion, but more an example of how to break the solid shapes up and pull back the pillow shading. The more solid you make an outline with more than one color, the more you fall into the pillow shade situation. I guess I missed the post where you first started this sprite, so I didn't realize the original was from the Link to the Past / Four Swords sprite.

The part that I edited almost has a complete angled rectangle in 3 different shades, broken up only really by the sharp angle by the head (which I'm a tad confused by as I'm not sure if that hood is meant to be pulling in under the head or be puffing out to the side... it looks a little far back to be his cheek area, or if that's supposed to be his shoulder since his arms are supposed to be pulling straight back).

On the "straight back" note - you might want to consider the anatomy you're working with on that thought. If you can see the angle of his thumb and fingers plus the hole of the sleeve, the arm can't be 'straight' back as the hole wouldn't be so wide if visible at all (that could just be the shadow reading wrong) and the wrist can't bend that far (the thumb would be pointing straight at the view at best, unless you want to make the character uncomfortable). It would be quite the awkward position to put your arm in. I could just be taking your definition the wrong way though.

I'm not gonna go into anything on the poses, as I can't be sure exactly how they are supposed to be oriented and I could just be reading some of them wrong from what is intended. If I'd be the only person mentioning it by this point (and I've been looking at it off and on for about 2 hours now) they are doing their job just fine anyway.

RE: all my loz sprites - Chris2Balls [:B] - 05-24-2010

Not bad work! I think the boomerang looks off because it doesn't have a full outline like the others.

RE: all my loz sprites - D.moffett1990 - 05-24-2010

ill do an outline on it lol but the items arent mine i have to give credit to the creators of the, when i figure out who did them
