However, we should only go with the most Pokemon-like. Doesn't matter how cool/unique they are, if they aren't Pokemon-like then they won't fit in.

Well as I said before, the problem is that people can't make Fakemon on their own. Its such a touchy subject that it needs a topic of its own.

I propose a process.

Step 1: Submit an idea (before designing a Pokemon you need a concept first)
Member says "how about an Ice type mountain goat?"

Step 2: MULTIPLE people submit concept art for that Pokemon (multiple designs means a greater perspective of ideas)

Step 3: Come up with final design for said Pokemon.

idk if we are doing this, but might I suggest the region's Farfetch'd/Chatot?

I was thinking of a cuckoo bird with a big head and swirled eyes that totters around looking confused. A "kookoo" cuckoo bird.

Me likes that idea~

RE: Pokemon Prism: The tSR Pokemon Game - Sengir - 04-05-2010

heh, thanks.

I also thought of an Aurora Borealis Ice/Ghost, but I'm not really sure how that'd look :/

Yeah I know that the Aurora Borealis is super-hot plasma, but pretty much everyone connects it to the cold so...

RE: Pokemon Prism: The tSR Pokemon Game - Lemon - 04-05-2010

That has to be the best Pokemon idea ever. xD

I'll finish my sprite up tomorrow.

RE: Pokemon Prism: The tSR Pokemon Game - Wes - 04-05-2010

A Grass/Ghost or Grass/Dark type Jack-o-lantern Pokemon would be cool. I also thought of another Ghost type, based off of an elephant. Elephants are the only animals besides human who hold rituals for their dead. They cover the bones/body of dead elephants with dirt, leaves, and branches. And maybe throw in another type like Rock or Normal.

IDK, I think a Grass/Fire Jack-o-lantern might work better.

RE: Pokemon Prism: The tSR Pokemon Game - Wes - 04-05-2010

That's true, but I just thought Ghost and Dark fit more with the whole "Halloween" thing. But oh well.

RE: Pokemon Prism: The tSR Pokemon Game - Vic - 04-05-2010

We totally need a Mimic-like Ghost type Pokemon...
Hidden in a Mansion or a ghost ship, some of them are real chests that contain Items and some others are Pokemon.

no, that wouldnt work at all.

Grass/Ghost or Grass/Dark would work better
ghost for will-o-wisp
dark for trick moves

umm, if your using platinum/Hgss style sprites, are you going to use the tileset made by kyledove or are you going to make your own?

You have just witnessed my ridiculous inability to sprite
the human form.

We already have a Grass Dark Pokemon.
This would be the only way we'd be able to put in a Grass/Fire combo. Nothing else would work for a Grass/Fire. Can you anything?

Also Vulpix can learn Will-o-Wisp and its not a Ghost type.

Ahem maybe its best to put Fakemon creation in a separate topic?

The sprites are really nice, just a lot too small. WE're going for HG/SS style, so overworlds are this size. [Image: hair.png] I posted a rough base a while back if you want to edit that into your sprite.

RE: Pokemon Prism: The tSR Pokemon Game - Alpha Six - 04-06-2010

They are AA'd to hell. To the point where they're out of style.

This is HGSS, not GSC.

If this project were to use Kyledove's Sprites I would probably think it best not to use the ones in his older style, as they are very colour draining and a bit bland. However his newer sets match more with the bright colours from HGSS, take this one for example: http://Kymotonian.deviantart.com/art/Slowpoke-Well-144444307

There are many other spriters tiles we could use if we are using Kyledove's as they would probably fit in nicely with his sprites. Dewitty has some very nice sprites too an example of one of his tilesets would be: http://Dewitty.deviantart.com/art/HGSS-Nature-Tiles-158610785 or http://Dewitty.deviantart.com/art/Traditional-Japanese-155510201 or http://Dewitty.deviantart.com/art/Safari-Time-155714695

Also, I was wondering if Pokémon are going to follow you, as I really liked this feature in HeartGold and SoulSilver.

As for another Rotom form, I think it would be good to have a blender form, named Shred Form?
