Because that would both require a lot of extra coding, would only be worthwhile with completed projects (and that happens just so often), and would be outside of the forum. So it wouldn't solve a whole lot...

It's also called Pixeloint, so.

My idea is we should have two forums. One forum that's hard on crits and another thats lighter and is more about showing sprites and stuff.
Maybe: the crit one would be Workshop and the other one could be Showcase or leave it as Sprite Discussion.

Workshop would be for more intermediate spriters to post their work and get it critiqued in a more Pixelation sort of way. No rips, edits, recolors, fusions etc. on that board only custom work. Those could all go under Showcase. Attatchments would also be allowed in Showcase but not in Workshop.

I like that a lot, seems to me like a good idea. So one is just for showcasing whatever, even if it's bad or fantastic, but the critique board is for heavy criticism.

RE: Seperating beginners from the rest. - mozzy - 07-10-2009

Pretty much yeah. I mean you can still give opinions and stuff in the showcase one, just not to the extent of what would go on in Workshop.

RE: Seperating beginners from the rest. - GrooveMan.exe - 07-10-2009

That seems reasonable enough, as long as people don't mind recolours being in Showcase because they don't want crit.

RE: Seperating beginners from the rest. - Tim - 07-10-2009

Well that could be solved with a showcase moderator?

It's not really that hard to figure out.

RE: Seperating beginners from the rest. - Koopaul - 07-11-2009

There should be strict moderation for the critique board. There can be some fights that go on.

RE: Seperating beginners from the rest. - LeleleleMAXIMUM - 07-11-2009

Huh. Look at Pixelation. I don't think so.
Then again, this is TsRC.

I love the Idea of a begginer section and a Pro section; however problems can happen if you put a limit to how long you have to stay a begginger before you can be a Pro. I'm very new to posting and submiting sprites to TSR but I've actualy sprited for years and I think I'm fairly good at it, however I know I'm not a begginger. Maby there can be a way where a mod (maby 2) is/are set to gonvern over request to be alowed to post in a Profesional fourm. and limits can be set for the Request.
EX. in order to post request you can't be under any disiplonary actions
you can only submit once a week
the submison must be of your own work
Ext...

doing so the other mods don't have to worry about granting people the access to the pro section of TSR and if a relitivly new person joins but is very good at spriting they can be alowwed into the professional area. and even those that arnt can work on getting better without bothering the mods and Admins

I kind of doubt you read the whole topic, especially the last page. It isn't divided into a "pro" and "beginner". (and btw, there are maybe 3-5 people here are who are anywhere near "pro") the Workshop board is for heavy critique (basically nitpicking the sprite to bits) and the other, Showcase, is more for just showing sprites, rips, edits, recolors etc. and getting more light critique.

I think there should be a little quality control in the Workshop board, but not so that it limits a ton of new users.

And I doubt we'll need new mods since we already have more than enough, don't bother asking.

I'm was reading until about page 4 I didn't read the last one Sry
anyways I just read it and your idea seems better and more practical

Pro means professional which means they make money out of it.

RE: Seperating beginners from the rest. - mozzy - 07-12-2009

So are we actually going through with it?

RE: Seperating beginners from the rest. - Adam - 07-12-2009

I'm really looking forward to this, I really think it'll help improve the lot of us.
