They haven't messed with the original design of any character. The only characters that are different are Link, Zelda and Impa, because they're a new brand of them, rather than being the ones from the other worlds

"They haven't messed with any characters, just these three."

Oh.

"Because they're a new brand of them."

That's how it is in every Zelda game, for the most part. Everything gets reimagined. Tingle gets reimagined, the Skull Kid gets reimagined, the Zoras and Gorons all get reimagined. I get that from an out-of-universe perspective these characters are simply being taken from one game and placed into another, but in continuity these probably are not the same Darunia and Ruto that were in OoT.

It's just a shame that in a game about warfare they wouldn't bother to imagine Ruto in Zora Armor.

what are you talking about, I was just stating that they didn't personalise anyone that came directly from the other series.

And even if it's not canon they are actually supposed to be the SAME character. Not a new iteration, literally the same

Info dump on the latest famitsu article (also all the scans are there)

OoT Link and Zelda look great! (And I wasn't even all that fond of OoT Zelda's design originally)

Also, it's about time they made references to Sheik's harp playing I mean

I really like all the cool ninja stuff she (don't make a big deal out of the gender thing plz) gets to do in Smash, but throughout OoT most of the time she's playing the harp or leaving "deep", cryptic messages. Think that would deserve at least a taunt...

Are those OoT styled alt costumes for Link and Zelda I see?

RE: Waifu Warriors: Featuring Link from the Legend of Zelda series! - Koh - 07-23-2014

I would reaaaally want to see an alt based on their original Z1 and Z2 designs now. Brown-haired Link was best Link.

They finally made Shiek look like a woman

RE: Waifu Warriors: Featuring Link from the Legend of Zelda series! - Jermungandr - 07-23-2014

I've been told that the magazine actually refers to Sheik in female terms. I don't know a lick of Japanese so I couldn't tell you how true that is.

i'm glad they finally decided to bring back the best zelda character ever made

It appears you can also play as Link and Zelda with their Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword appearance.

Not that their new outfits were any bad to begin with, but it's a nice touch.

This video is amazing. Not only does it convince me that Zant and Ghirahim are PROBABLY playable (it's not a 100% confirm), but it also shows off how increeeedibly creepy Wizuro is. I mean, that mouth, god damn.

Also shows off a lot of the new characters announced recently.

Okay, current hopes:

Playable villains
Ganondorf with multiple weapon choices
Nabooru
Twinrova
Pig Ganon
Ravio
Hilda (at least a skin)
Yuga
Zelda 2 bosses (Horse Head, etc)

And the ultimate character

The old man, who fights with a wooden sword.
