Well it would be better to go a little forward into the future. Really it won't make sense to use the old ones when the new ones are coming out. Even if they weren't coming out then we still would've revamped them in our own way. So there is your answer.

But it needs to be smaller. Yoshi is pretty big compared to some enemies.
