Mpms may only play when the child plays though.

Quote:"If Nintendo is really committed to reaching a broader, more diverse audience of gamers beyond the "kids" market that they've always engaged, there isn't much new with the DSi to support that. Significant gamer demographic groups are being ignored, and there continues to be limited opportunities for games from external publishers to do well on the DSi. Compare that with the PSP platform, where we have many blockbuster franchises from our publishing partners launching this year, representing a wide variety of genres and targeting diverse demographics. Games such as Rock Band Unplugged from MTV Games, Assassin's Creed from Ubisoft, Dissidia Final Fantasy from Square Enix, and Hannah Montana from Disney demonstrate the commitment that publishers have to the PSP. From our own first-party studios, we're launching unique versions of LittleBigPlanet and MotorStorm, and we're also planning a steady stream of downloadable games -- both new titles and PSone classics -- to add to the content that PSP owners can already purchase wirelessly through PlayStation Store. "

I'm sure you all think Sony is now being arrogant. Why would you say this if your losing?

How come I have not heard this?

Beyonce has one, so I'm definitely getting one. I saw the behind the scenes for that commercial. Shes like, "Now I have something to do when I'm bored, because I travel a lot."

Plus there's DSiWare or some shit, sounds decent enough, and I wouldn't mind listening to my music while I'm playing my DS anyways.

RE: Dsi is for kids. - Koopaul - 04-16-2009

Hey guys, I'm posting from my DSi right now! Wahaha!

RE: Dsi is for kids. - Boo - 04-16-2009

Really? You can do that? Sweet I have to get me one of those. How long does it take to post a message?

RE: Dsi is for kids. - Goemar - 04-16-2009

The old DS could do that, you just had to buy the web browser. And the PSP could do that ages ago, it isn't that awesome.
Giving up a GBA slot for a crap camera and shitty DSiware just doesn't do it for me. I love many games on the GBA and still play them. Not to mention it makes it so you can't play Guitar Hero or transfer Pokemon from Ruby etc.

If you have a DS Lite this isn't worth the money. And the lid really needs to be shiny, I mean it looks hideous.

What about DSi enhanced and DSi exclusive carts?
Down the line it would be nice to have one, so I for one am going to be picking mine up while I can still get 1000 points and the browser for free.
(I haven't actually heard anything about them only haing the browser free ofr a while and then charging for it later on, but who knows. Tongue)

I'd rather wait until Nintendo INEVITABLY comes out with the DSi Plus/Micro/Super/SP/Lite that brings back the GBA slot, adds support to GB/GBC cartridges AND Game Gear, upgrades the camera, makes the console lighter and includes iPhone support because Apple will inevitably work together with Nintendo to fight Microsoft and their 360 and soon-to-be-coming gigantic portable version of the XBOX 360.

RE: Dsi is for kids. - Goemar - 04-16-2009

If iTunes was on the DSi big money would be made, but with the iphone now a gaming platform (apparently) it doesn't look good. As far as I know the browser will always be free - haven't heard anything about it not ever being free...
And yes GB/GBC support would get my money. Shantae needs love!

And DSi only games? Probably all use the camera. And well, if the Eye-Toy is anything to go by I don't think I'll be missing much.

RE: Dsi is for kids. - Gold - 04-16-2009

...well I bet Spirit Tracks will at least be DSi enhanced like ages and seasons were for gba? >.<
And other neat stuff like that? :/ Quiet, I'm trying to justify buying one. _ _"

RE: Dsi is for kids. - Goemar - 04-16-2009

If you have the money for it, then get one. But if you have a DS Lite and like me are quite poor (as in weeks go by where all I can afford is plain pasta) think of all the the games and other things you could buy with the money. An upgraded version is also 100% guaranteed (maybe even within the year?) to come out anyway so you might as well wait for that as it might actually be a bit more of an upgrade instead of a rather pointless one (aka PSP-3000).

You know, if it had a point.

0.3 gives a resolution 2.5 times the size of the DSi screen, so it's fine for what it's used for.

The other day, I found my GBA SP and started playing my GBA/GBC games on it, and I had forgotten how awesome they were. My GBA slot on my DS has been empty forever anyway, I'm not gonna miss it.

RE: Dsi is for kids. - Goemar - 04-16-2009

But they look better on the DS Lite than the GBA SP. Astro Boy, Gunstar, Warioware - games I play time and time again. And as a pixel whore I just can't tarnish them with the GBA SP screen.

RE: Dsi is for kids. - GrooveMan.exe - 04-16-2009

I don't have a Lite, just a regular DS.

RE: Dsi is for kids. - Goemar - 04-16-2009

In which case a DSi would be a wise purchase! Or you could just get a Lite, as they are now cheaper...
