And the monster guy.

RE: Monster Tale - Jermungandr - 05-14-2011

I apologize that I haven't updated at all this past week; I've been really busy working on a php coding project for another website. I'll try to post something new before the end of the weekend.

RE: Monster Tale - Garamonde - 05-14-2011

You don't hafta explain, just update whenever you can. Smile

RE: Monster Tale - Azu - 05-15-2011

Awesome rip. Is Ellie tiled like the others? It doesn't appear like that in her sheet. Also, how are you ripping these? Cause, want to help.

RE: Monster Tale - Dazz - 05-15-2011

On top of that, is it possible to rip Henry Hatsworth using the same thing you're using to rip these? I suppose that's more a question posed to Baru...

Yes and no. It seems to use an older (or at least slightly different) format, and uses some more advanced options when it comes to the maps. With this program you should be able to rip most (if not all) of the obj_ files, assuming you kept the folder structure intact (otherwise you'll have to copy the contents of the 'palette' folder into the folder of the obj_ file you want to parse).

On a related note, I suppose this should help with getting more people involved. (Although I imagine Drshnaps'll want to finish ripping Chomp)

RE: Monster Tale - Jermungandr - 12-25-2011

I've had no internet for the last month without much more to do than play videogames and rip sprites. So I thought I'd catch up on this project:

I have a lot more coming but I need to make icons for them still.

RE: Monster Tale - Garamonde - 12-25-2011

Wow welcome back! Awesome rips! (I also haven't done anything more for KMA since last time because I've gotten on a huge model ripping kick, heh heh Shy)

RE: Monster Tale - Ton - 12-26-2011

Holy crap. O_O

RE: Monster Tale - Dazz - 12-26-2011

Wow... Amazing work there sir! And hey, I've missed you! It's great to see you back again!

I was actually talking to someone about this game 2 days ago, and thinking about going back to it. Now I've no need to! Great stuff! Big Grin

i used the sprite sheets from here to make some animated gifs. ellie's missing her second arm! apparently the one with the band is a separate sprite.

...and the gifs are probably about half the speed from the actual game. anywho, this is my first post. hope you guys like this. i'm using gimp. these are the first gifs i've ever made. sure is some tedious work.

RE: Monster Tale - Ton - 04-21-2012

I was coming into this topic to warn you for bumping such an old topic, but... your post was actually helpful. She IS missing her arm.

Incorrect, he just didn't check the entire sheet before making the animation.

2nd Line: Running body alone
3rd Line: Arms alone
4th Line: Body and arm combined (normal)
5th Line: Body and arm combined (firing)
6th Line: Body and arm combined (ready to fire)

The reason the arm is separated is because there are multiple arm combinations possible for her running sprites.

What I think you might find much more interesting is that if you zoom in on her normal arm in some of her running sprites, it actually doesn't appear to be connected to her body; the arm is displaced by a pixel or two. This isn't actually a fault of mine, however, that is how it actually is in the game.

Anyways you probably already figured that out but I love throwing out random tidbits that I find interesting.

Here's a few new things:

Sorry about all the broken links around here ... I had to shut down my old site so I'll have to go back and fix those sometime soonish. For the meantime if you really want to see all the sheets I've done so far you can always look here: http://www.jermungandr.net/sprites/

Expect even more submissions tomorrow.
