Robotnik is more suited to a boss character in Adventure mode.

Popularity should not be a key factor in deciding a character. Pit/ Ice Climbers were long forgotten too.

Well, I´ve been thinking about this, and this might seem a bit stupid, but how about we add different Pokémon characters? Instead of going always with Pichu, Charizard, Mewtwo... We could add different kinds of Pokémon. For example, instead of Jigglypuff, I think that Machamp might be a suitable and why not, interesting choice.
With the Fire Emblem character, pretty the same. It seems like only a few remember Hector and his thunder axe, or Lilina...

Well, I can´t really say I like him. In fact, till you don´t get the Sword of Seals, he´s got the "honor" of being the weakest lord of all the FE games.

No Slippy for the same reason there's no Peppy. They're not active in the field. They're both support characters.
