RE: Loz Stal child sprites - D.moffett1990 - 11-06-2009

Digitamer Metaru I like your edit of the head I think im going to use it , the only thing wrong with the head is the eyes and i gotta change the nose to make it look more like the refs but thats nothing ,thank you to all of you for the crit please keep it coming
ego i like your sprite to but it would go more with the old zelda games like the oracels ect

RE: Loz Stal child sprites - Ego - 11-06-2009

Thank you. I don't mind it not being used, Metaru's is wonderful. I've never really sprited in Minish Cap style before, so it was a new experience Smile. I do, however, recommend not just copy-pasting Metaru's head and using it. Just use it as inspiration, as a place to strive towards.
Or, of course, you could always just use it as is. It'll make the sprite look good, but you won't get so much out of the experience.
And what a coincidence, I love the oracle games!
Good luck with your editing.

RE: Loz Stal child sprites - D.moffett1990 - 11-06-2009

thanks agian ego, i am not just copying and pasting it i actually was just editing it now lol, but the only thing I cant get now is the nose it just doesnt look right with the triangle nose lol I edited yours so if you wanted to you could do it in gba style or just finish it idk here it is
[Image: gbstylestalchild-1.png]

and here is wat i have done so far with mine

did the walking down sprites and the comin out of the ground down sprites
i left the eyes the same because of the view the game is at...
so what do you all think now?

RE: Loz Stal child sprites - bnewton - 11-06-2009

ok, so I maybe am not the perfect critical view here, but it seems to me that metaru agreed with me on the eyes, anyway nice new stalchild D.Moffet1990 but now it seems like it has no body at all, like it's arms and legs just come together at one point, but as to your already-existing stalchild, why is it still there?

the top one is just and edit of egos i did you cant see the body because its at birds eye view so you barley see any of it ,
the second one is mine that i edited

RE: Loz Stal child sprites - bnewton - 11-06-2009

so if it's at birds-eye view why is the face looking up?

you haven't sen MC styled sprites, have you.

that's just how they are, you should look the style before asking any questions about it.

RE: Loz Stal child sprites - bnewton - 11-06-2009

I'm just asking! T_T

RE: Loz Stal child sprites - Cobalt Blue - 11-06-2009

this is how the original stalfos looks in minish cap. now that i look at it, i really prefer how i did the hips and chest.

RE: Loz Stal child sprites - D.moffett1990 - 11-09-2009

I liked your hips and chest to but it made him look to tall but right now im working on the claw attack in the dwn position
any more suggestions on it ... do you h=guys like the new one?

RE: Loz Stal child sprites - Ego - 11-09-2009

Oh, sorry, forgot to crit that one up there! I need to go to bed now, but I'll try to come crit it tomorrow after school.

As a quick note though, it DOES look good, and you did wonders with the head on mine, great job.

RE: Loz Stal child sprites - Ego - 11-09-2009

Holy shit, dude. That walk cycle is REALLY good.
I mean, that's like, flawless. A WINNER IS YOU! I probably shouldn't be this excited, as it looks a lot like the game Stalfos, but you know what? I don't care. Nice job.

And, mostly, the raising from the ground one is quite good too.
The only beef with this one is that it jumps from the last frame of the sequence to the idle stance rather abruptly. A couple more transition slides are probably needed, but wow dude, nice job.

As an off note, the whiter color you use above and below the eyes is invisible on the 100% zoomed sprite. Add more of it, or you could just get rid of it altogether there if you wanted.
Can't wait to see the attack!

maybe adding a small momentum while his faces appears and then he pops out of the ground would help. a small jump for example.

Agreed. Although, some of the problem I think is that the legs seem to come out of nowhere.
