He's probably speaking in regards to the graphics, which are pretty blegh even for simplistic standards (animations are lacking, almost no posing variety either; i.e. the Player's sprite is pretty much the same, unsmooth, 2 frame walk sprite for 90% of the game. No unique poses for like, pressing switches or carrying objects, and etc.). The gameplay isn't deep at all either, it just kinda scratches the surface of what could've been. But overall, it's a decent game at least.

Don't play it much anymore, but yeah TF2 is pretty terrible if you have a competitive mindset. The many imbalances and inconsistencies will annoy the shit out of you. The servers show how outdated they are, the devs have mostly stopped caring. Its a shame as it had potential to be a really good competitive FPS. But they went in favor of silly for the updates; since that'd attract more people they said. Now Dota 2 is a competitively balanced game by them and has a much larger playerbase. So looks like they were wrong.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Well, at least all the hardcore competitive players say it's crappy.

I was way more excited for Brawl than I was for Sm4sh. The story was interesting, they added some unique characters, and whatever algorithm they implemented to control the lag for online play worked like a charm (for me at least). I mean...I guess compared to what competitive people play, Brawl is a guilty pleasure for me. I wish they hadn't turned off Wi-Fi for older consoles so I could get a used Wii just to play online.
