RE: Why TSR? - Terminal Devastation - 04-17-2014

To be honest, I joined mostly because it really felt like my spriting skills outgrew the kind of advice i could get elsewhere... and then I guess I expected to get walls of text telling me all the things wrong with all my stuff. Since, it's helpful for me to have to sort through it for stuff I could use.

I never quite got what I wanted, but it's nice enough here (might be why I didn't get what I was expecting), and I learn so much just lurking in the pixel art, game dev, and game discussion sections. There's plenty of insight into things I never knew I'd have to pay attention to here, so it's a great place ot learn.

Still too uneasy about this place to post my mm7(ish) sprites though.

(and many of the other sections kind of scare me)

I joined because Pixeltendo.

RE: Why TSR? - recme - 04-17-2014

after being on dA for a while, i wanted to get better. at the time, i was underage to join the forums/anything else on the internet, but i didnt let that stop me. after stumbling across tsr as a 10 year old, i decided i wanted to get compliments from here as well. but of course, that didnt turn out well. i think i didnt come back until a year later. i began learning the communities jokes and users and had lots of fun with it. i remember i started knowing most of you guys by having a skype. i think gors persuaded me and virt into getting one. that was also lots of fun too.

id like to thank those who put up with me through these years. i apologize for not telling you guys about my underage-ness. i really didnt want to leave this community. i looked up to a lot of users here, especially gorsal and i wouldve never expected to become his friend back then!

thank you all C:

Banned.

RE: Why TSR? - Saltonara - 04-17-2014

I was originally a big baby on "Prixeltendo", then tSR and Pixeltendo split up so I came here and still acted like a baby, then eventually I got banned when people told me to do things because I wanted to fit in. Later on after all that shit happened (like I think it was at least a year or two) I was pardoned and then I started being a valuable member of the community.

RE: Why TSR? - Gors - 04-17-2014

I don't consider myself a great example to be followed. I have many problems and many drawbacks that should be avoided by everyone. However, I acknowledge that I made a difference in others' lives, not only here, but in other internet places and irl, that I couldn't say anything other than 'thank you'. A COMMUNity is what the name says, it's a place where people with COMMON thoughts and preferences gather, and like a bunch of rough pebbles, they chisel each other in order to become precious gems. That is what makes communities a beautiful thing.

Having others' eyes watching you: be it doing a project, sharing thoughts or even just trash-talking, is a good way to get better as a person. We exchange experiences here, both art techniques and valuable life tips. I consider some of you the best friends one person could have and just like you admire me, I look to the sky sometimes and think about how every one of you have helped forming my current self.

I am sorry for not talking much with some of you guys and girls; life sucks sometimes and there are priorities to take care of. But good friends are good friends and I'll be here to exchange a thought or two whenever you feel like it.

I still remember that thread

Jordan, dude!

RE: Why TSR? - Dazz - 04-18-2014

Actually that's not true. I made these forums on my own accord, and Jordon stopped running Pixeltendo because of the lack of people hanging around as a result. I was sick of the attitude that people had and the sour reputation it help.. As well as the inability to really have the forum interact with the site.

RE: Why TSR? - GaryCXJk - 04-18-2014

I still remember when Jordan, you're not gay.

I miss being simple.

RE: Why TSR? - Ran Master 27 - 04-18-2014

ah, good to know i totally fucked that up as opposed to just a little

i'm pretty sure jordan didn't originally run pixeltendo and it was someone else. :/ but yeah - either/or the creation of the TSR forums eventually caused PT to die. i couldn't really remember whether PT died first or TSR started first but oh well whatever

RE: Why TSR? - Dazz - 04-19-2014

Oh, yeah, Pixeltendo was started out by Bacon. But he left because he lost interest and handed it over to Jordan.
I forget the first board's name, but it then became Ninsprites, then PT.

RE: Why TSR? - Koopaul - 04-19-2014

"Aussie Nintendo" I believe.

I was invited by Bacon to come submit my crappy sprites to his new site Ninsprites. That was back in 2001 I believe. 13 years ago! I've seen so much change, so much drama, fun, disaster, hope, love, hate, life, and even death.

I don't know how to feel about all of it. I never did. That was my ultimate dilemma.

RE: Why TSR? - psychospacecow - 04-19-2014

This has been going on for a really long time hasn't it?

RE: Why TSR? - E-Man - 04-19-2014

Since you posted, Psychospacecow, I'm actually quite interested in the circumstances that bright you to this web site in the first place. Would you mind sharing them?
