RE: Help Ripping Sprites From a PSP Game - Dazz - 10-15-2014

I believe somebody made a dedicated extraction application for Final Fantasy PSP games... I just don't remember who or where it was.

RE: Help Ripping Sprites From a PSP Game - Koh - 10-15-2014

Thanks. So far so good...it worked on FF1 and FF2, and the result was a TON of .pck files (how do I open these?) for FF1, and a wide arrange of file types for FF2. Here's the list of file types I'm seeing:
.AOB, .ACG, .ACL, .GIM, .TIM, .ATR, .AT3, .CHR, .EFA, .ANA, .ASC, .LSC, .MD1, .MD2, .PAC, .PHD (lol), .PLB, .TXT (Yay, a recognizeable format), .TSC, .WCL and .WMD

One of FF2's GIM files I converted.

If you could upload a couple of sample PCKs as well as some of those FF2 files I can take a look.

FF1, some PCK files: http://www.mediafire.com/download/cfw5f2pcx4ft963/FF1_Some_PCKs.zip
FF2, almost one of every file type: http://www.mediafire.com/download/pa5j2zfcsydsk45/FF2_One_of_Almost_Every_File_Type.zip

Thanks, although the second link is the same as the first Tongue

RE: Help Ripping Sprites From a PSP Game - Koh - 10-15-2014

Derp, my bad. Fixed. Also, I left out some of the file types for the FF2 archive, because there were only like one or three files with that type, so I doubt any meaningful graphics could come out of them.

Try to extract de PCK files from FF1 with Gitmo. It worked for me.
There are animations of spells, sprites of the characters, a lot of Tilesets and more.

Only some FF2 files can be extracted with Gitmo, but not all, unfortunately.

Also, could you tell me how do you unpack the PAC0.bin and PAC1.bin from FF4 CC? I would look for myself the .lzs files with Gitmo. I would like to extract some game Tilesets.

I did that with FF1, and it always crashes (is that its way of closing itself once the job is done?) around EFFECT01.PCK.  It got the GIMs and converted them before this file, though.  The only sprites I got were some of the special bosses and UI stuff.  The only tilesets I got were specific scenes like the airship.  Did you manage to get all the tilesets and missing characters?  If so, then you've done what I was trying to do, and could submit that to the site.

What did you find from FF2?  The site doesn't have any of the characters, UI stuff, or anything other than the bestiary.

I have no idea for this question.

It is very confusing to explain, besides I do not speak English very well.

There are some PCK files with more PCK files within. You have to unzip these files ff12div.exe, but a lot of work to find those PCK files.
Instead, I'll leave a link with everything I took from the game. I think thera are some Gallery images missing, and some animations are not well made, but the other things are fine.

Right now I can not leave the link. I'll edit the topic with the link later.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

EDIT: Final Fantasy I GIM Extracted

Hope you find it useful.

Regarding FF2, I did not find much. Only some animations of spells, monsters, parallaxes, gameplays images, cutscenes images and animations of weapons.
