Owch, talk about unnecessary suspense. If it still arrives in one piece, at least the UPS guys didn't play package hockey with your delivery, right? =P

I wish it supported dual-threading! Meh, I bought my desktop PC in 2007, and 200 USD+shipping wasn't bad for a refurbished system like that at the time. Genki ^_^ (tigerdirect.com FTW.) It wouldn't even cost me $70 in used/new parts to bring it up to pace with today's standard refurb, but I'm a cheap bastard and don't really care about playing high-end video games outside of 7th gen consoles anyway. xD

I'm so tempted to torrent an ISO of Windows 7 and just use my legit license key, I really am. I mean, I kinda did the same thing for Windows XP Pro when I borrowed the install disc from a relative. (HP never packs their systems with the disc, hoping you'd be fine with the recovery partition instead. It's like they think their entire customer base are all "just works" idiots.)

But I'd still feel bad for going into a shady sector of the internet just to get something that should have came with the system in the first place. (My eMachines refurb included the Vista install disc.) And I'm not paying $350+ just for the install disc itself either, I could buy a second laptop with kind of money! While my license key is legit, that doesn't automatically give me the right to just rip a copy off the internet, because that's all the key is; nothing more than a license to use Windows. tl;dr, I'm at a huge impasse.

This made me laugh for some reason. I don't think you'll get party v& for an .iso torrent, but fuck who knows... I could be a fed.

Tigerdirect is good, I use NewEgg personally. I find it easier to just shop in one place(im lazy when it comes to shopping), otherwise I'd shop from Tigerdirect as well. I might actually purchase an SSD from them if they have one at a more reasonable price than newegg.

RE: wat r u packin? [Computer Thread] - Lilly - 02-27-2012

NewEgg is pretty cool, my dad bought a lot of laptop parts there. I'd buy stuff from both them and TigerDirect if I was a regular shopper of computer parts. It's one reason why I don't buy too many games, (Pokemon Black was the last one I picked up, and that was last year!) because I'm almost always forced to drop what cash I do have to burn on just hardware. xD

And on the off-chance you're a fed, I think "obtaining" a disc is officially off the table for me! =P *.Luke got away safely!*

RE: wat r u packin? [Computer Thread] - SinX - 02-27-2012

I just spend my whole tax return on computer and gun parts lol. My whole federal anyway, collections took my state return because of some fines I didn't pay when I was younger. My next upgrade path is definitely an SSD, 2 more 120mm LED fans(gotta love teh bling), and I'd also like to get an external hardrive to put all my music on. I'm thinking a second GPU would be redundant as of right now because I can max settings all the games I play at a high frame-rate.

If I was a fed I woulda busted myself a long time ago haha. It's good to stay anonymous when downloading torrents of any kind though.

This is the laptop I use. Bought it at best buy a couple years ago.

My tower is nothing special, but, I have not had problems running any games of my tastes.
Edit: I suppose I do have trouble emulating Wii games with all of the fixings (AA and all of that).

2X gts 240s
4.00 GB of DDR3 RAM
i5 at 2.4 GHz
Windows 7.

I was running a two monitor setup. But, after one of them stopped working I decided to just buy a 40 inch screen to have in front of me rather than two monitors. I tried some other cheap monitors but none of it felt right. It's nice, I can watch movies in bed now without squinting.
