Should we really base Gym Leaders off of members? I'd rather see original characters. No offense.
Just that Gym Leaders usually have the name, personality, and appearance of the type of Pokemon they use.

The idea of this is to make it a project based on the community, and thus involving the community by giving them their own spot in the game.
If we were going to go with completely custom leaders, it might discourage people from helping out.

My main concern is well... Think of a fanfiction were the author inserts herself into the story. I'm afraid that instead of everyone coming up with good original ideas, people will focus on too much of who they want to be in the game and boost their ego and such...
EDIT:However the Koopalings were based off the SMB3 team that designed them. So I believe you could make Gym Leaders BASED off of members but not really be those actual members. Hm?

that's an interesting idea. Dex and I already discussed members like Tonberry2k or Random Talking Bush that aren't human but would be humanized, so this may be similar to that.
