the blue is fine. You should keep it dark. (sugimori art is always washed out) the red still looks too orange though and the tan isn't bright enough

RE: Pokemon Zero Sprites - Sol - 07-21-2009

Well, if the art is unreliable, the logical thing to do would be to look at the Pokemon's official sprites.

The blue should definitely be lighter. It looks fantastic regardless, but it should have the correct color.

I think Primape's nose needs more work than his arms.

RE: Pokemon Zero Sprites - Vic - 07-21-2009

Yeah Primeape was kinda rushed in some parts and I didn't bother to open Photoshop again before uploading

Hope it looks better now

RE: Pokemon Zero Sprites - Alpha Six - 07-22-2009

I'll mess with the fur shading later and touch it up; mainly bringing the shades closer together or something along that level.

Loving the Sprites, so I have decided that I am going to help. My Little Contribution is Ditto. although since the other sprites seem real [ish] ditto looks out of place.

Essentially what you are saying about Feraligatr is that his colours need to be a bit brighter.

Feraligatr's third shade is far too dark on the lightened version, but it looks pretty good.

I'd like to finish that Gyarados.

RE: Pokemon Zero Sprites - Britt - 07-22-2009

Oh shit.

Good luck with that.

RE: Pokemon Zero Sprites - Skink - 07-22-2009

Whoa, sexy Gyarados Chris.

Used Vic's as a reference.

I also used some of your colors.

RE: Pokemon Zero Sprites - Boo - 07-22-2009

Isn't the Gyarados kind of bigger than it's supposed to be?

RE: Pokemon Zero Sprites - Ton - 07-22-2009

Hey, I saw it pop out of a waterfall in Snap. I think the size is good. Tongue

RE: Pokemon Zero Sprites - JoshR691 - 07-22-2009

Actually Boo, it's the Perfect Size. The Average Gyarados, according to the Pokedex is 21'04" This Rough Sketch is a little over 22' (Going by this Project's Size Chart)...I'm such a pokenerd...

Hey Tyvon, mind if I try this style?

This Project looks awesome so far guys

RE: Pokemon Zero Sprites - Wes - 07-22-2009

I think maybe Gyrados is too big. I don't know if its true, but I always considered snake-like pokemon (Gyrados, Milotic, Arbok, ect.) to have a length instead of height. Like the Pokedex says 21'04", that'd be how long he is. Of course, he's still huge. But the Milotic sprite is just about 9', while the Pokedex puts Milotic at 20'04".

I always thought Gyarados' size measurement in the pokedex was by it's length, not it's height, since that wouldn't make sence as it really depends on it's pose.

Still, that sketch of Chris2B's looks great.
