RE: Stages/Levels* - Alpha Six - 01-13-2011 I'm digging how this looks so far. Excellent work, Iceman. RE: Stages/Levels* - Iceman404 - 01-13-2011 Thanks everyone! I was sure that the idea would be slapped away, guess I was wrong! Anyways, since I'm still pending on Flying Monkey's answer for the bottom of the stage and I'm still figuring out how to implement a fountain without ANY part of it getting blocked but the platforms (Maybe put 2 on both semi-center sides?), I was thinking about getting a head start on the stage's background. How big should the image be? RE: Stages/Levels* - Locked Achievement - 01-14-2011 Hang on a minute. Just wondering, will the waterfall have any properties? I mean, like if someone is thrown under the stage, and is trying to recover, will the falling water push them down? or will it just be an aesthetic design? RE: Stages/Levels* - Iceman404 - 01-14-2011 Its just there for show, it shouldn't interfere with gameplay. It could even be somewhat transparent. RE: Stages/Levels* - FlyingMonkey - 01-14-2011 Sorry for not getting back to you Iceman...long night. EDIT: I forgot to mention that I'll be gone all day today. I have business to attend to. RE: Stages/Levels* - Iceman404 - 01-14-2011 Yes! That's exactly it! I will start the BG today, and probably animate the water for a change. RE: Stages/Levels* - Iceman404 - 01-14-2011 Actually...Scratch that. I'm still stumped on a good waterfall animation, so I moved onto the background blimp. Work in Progress obviously. By the way, should the background sprites have outlines or not? RE: Stages/Levels* - Wes - 01-14-2011 I think background objects probably shouldn't have outlines, and they should probably be a little duller in color to help distinguish from the parts of the actual stage RE: Stages/Levels* - FlyingMonkey - 01-14-2011 Ffffffffffffff... And I just got done with it too. RE: Stages/Levels* - Wes - 01-14-2011 Well the underside of the stage is going to be solid? Like you can't pass in front of the rocks underneath? because those look good as they are. By "background objects" I meant the hot air ballons, buildings, trashcans, or whatever else we're adding in. RE: Stages/Levels* - Iceman404 - 01-14-2011 (01-14-2011, 06:38 PM)FlyingMonkey Wrote: Ffffffffffffff...This is great! I think what Wes meant was the hot air balloon alone, the rock's aren't really background material. Edit: Ninja Gaiden'd. Didn't see the post above. RE: Stages/Levels* - tsr moderation staff - 01-14-2011 also i miss the gong RE: Stages/Levels* - Wes - 01-14-2011 I think the gong was going to be put in Final Destination instead. RE: Stages/Levels* - tsr moderation staff - 01-14-2011 yeah, but imo it fits the whole serenity thing this has going on better RE: Stages/Levels* - Wes - 01-14-2011 I don't know about that. I've played a gong before, and when its in use, "serene" is not something I would use to describe it. Also I think we said that Battlefield was going to be modern, and look like a park or a field in a city. Final D was going to look like some ancient abandoned fighting area on some floating island, being overgrown with plants and streams and such. |
