If you look closer at Motherfried, you can see Zeikfried's helmet in her arms. Motherfried is just a combination between Mother and Zeikfried and from my point of view, the most hilarious name for a boss I've ever heard (especially the German translation "Mutterfried").

Speaking of the German translation, did that fix Zeikfried and Zeik Tuvai into Siegfried and Sieg Zwei (which is how they're supposed to be translated to begin with)?

German translators made 1:1-translations for nearly everything, Boomerang is Bumerang, Boomerang Flash is Bumerang Blitz and Motherfried is Mutterfried. But the special ones with no meaning in English have their original names, like Zeikfried and Zeik Tuvai.

In Wild Arms 3 (English version), he is named Siegfried:

Hey man, just popped in to say great job on the Wild Arms rips. I've been wanting to make tilesets out of the Wild Arms tilesets for a long time, so once again thanks man. Since you also ripped a lot of the Tales of Destiny and Phantasia tilesets, I'll thank you once again on that one too. Big Grin

Thanks, I guess you can find all of the ToP tilesets on TSR now, Destiny just misses Dycroft and a few of the cutscenes. I'm really sure I can rip all of the dungeons from Wild Arms, but I'm not too sure about the villages.

It's not hard to get the palettes, but it is partly annoying to find the correct one (caves, ruins). Therefore I will not rip them.

Been in search for some tiles to use in a project I am making and I already had raided on your rips of Alundra~
After a while someone recommended to take a look at Wild Arms, as well, as it has slightly similar darkish style (should match enough at least if I recolor them with same pallette). <o< I found this thread when you were still pretty early in work and cannot wait till you have the project finished.

Any tips btw in gathering a pallette out of the rips to be used for recoloring and making new tiles out of them? I seem to end up with a lot of almost identical ramps x3 It is manageable, but not very convenient~ <o< I understand though if the question isn't exactly up to your alley.

Anyways, warm thanks for you. This has come in exactly right time for me >u< Good luck with future ripping .o.

By the way, PSX-VRAM can easily generate palettes for its quicksaves, show me the tiles you need and I will see what I can do (don't really know which ramps you're talking about).

Note: I discovered that the NPCs in the VRAM are exactly the same from the game:

However, this doesn't count for the main characters:

VRAM-files for Heaven's Corridor & Gemini's Corpse, but as you can see the Ingame-versions are different. In fact, the VRAM-files are low-quality versions and I bet this counts also for all monster & guardian textures (which are unusable due to their loss of colours, their anti-alias and whatnot).

This one is from Baskar Village, it looks the same as the other Ingame-screens, but its VRAM-file is completely different.

And as you can see on my character sets above, no VRAM-file with main characters is like every other VRAM-file, they have all different colour gradients.

It's interesting to know that the game itself uses for every area the same character sprites, I wonder if someone with an original CD could get them with PSicture. Some basic moves (walking diagonally, using tools) are also not stored in the VRAM.
