What I was trying to say with my previous post is that link is left-handed, and the way it's being sprited, you're putting the sword in his right hand.

Link has never once been right handed, ever. But that'll change for Skyward Sword, but this Link isn't based on that one.

So to fix this, all that needs to be done is to flip that sprite sheet horizontally.

There.
We did that on purpose, we wanted Link and toonlink to be different, besides, since the Wii, link will most likely be right handed. Also, remember, link isn't just one man in each game, it's a whole ancestry. So you will most likely meet links that are right handed.
That's just one game out of the like 15 or so canon Zelda games. I honestly don't think that his handedness should change just for the sake of making link and toon link different.

As for skyward sword, link will only be right handed because of the wii controls. He will always be left handed by zelda canon.

I think accuracy should be paramount above all else.
and I think that not giving a shit about different sides is above all else in this very exact situation.

first of all, why should Link have two different idle sprites? I know, it's going to be nice and all to represent him accurately and shit. But why having to worry about those details if you guys can't even make animations of him regularly? I don't get it.

If anything, I'd suggest to stop worrying on cosmetic changes and focus on production and quality first. This way,

1-people will be more motivated
2-progress will be faster
3-making back poses will be easier this way.

but yeah, i don't give a shit about right or left handedness at all. It'd clash with the other characters anyway.

Twilight Princess.

And again, it doesn't matter right now. We already decided we were going to base his handed-ness off of Twilight Princess.

Actually he was left handed in twilight princess, it was made for the gamecube first, then mirrored for the wii.
Yes. It was.

Still right-handed.

Again, IT DOES NOT MATTER. We have decided what version we're using already. There is absolutely zero need to start complaining.
I still think this Link needs some work. Nothing to do with handedness.
I agree with gors in thinking that it should be okay for the sprites to be flipped, at least for now. After the important sprites are actually done, THEN you can worry about doing the sprites in the other direction.

I apologize, I didn't mean to start anything, but if you don't mind I do have some questions...
Clearly I haven't been here long, so I don't know all about why you've made certain decisions, but I was wondering why you've decided to make link right handed when it is canon that he is left handed and the only times he's ever been right handed were due to motion controls as far as I know?
It doesn't really matter to me, but since there isn't really animation progress and people are still working on idle frames I don't see why it matters if he is sprited left handed or right.

I don't mean to start arguments or anything, I'm just curious...
We decided on right-handed Link because he's easier to sprite and Skyward Sword has a right-handed Link. This project is not in the state where we can worry about details like that, we need to actually finish a character to put in the engine.
@glitch, if I remember correctly, the main reason for normal Link being right-handed here, other than Skyward Sword, is that we wanted another way to differentiate this Link from Toon Link.
alright, so to get back on topic about the sprite: what should I fix about it? Koopaul said it still needs work, well, like what?
