Derp. It's just Raichu, then.

I think I'm fine with it, as long as it's just the one unique evolution.

I'm hoping for a light ball type item that acts like a Pikachu megastone, and gives stat boosts while not messing with the character design, if Pikachu is to ever get another forme.
But can it learn Surf without special events?
I remember using a surfing Raichu back in Pokemon Stadium. It had a unique surfing on its tail animation that was awesome.

Then again, maybe he used it for other stuff and I never noticed, but I was pretty sure surfing Pikachu had a unique one too.

Anyway, I wonder if they also get any abilities like Levitate, that would mix things up a lot. Just because he's floating doesn't mean much, though. Pidgeys have been on the ground for a long time and they are still immune to ground attacks.
It's already confirmed that Raichu gets Surge Surfer as ability, which doubles his speed in Electric Terrain.
Still no word about Mega evolutions. I can't imagine they're just going to drop it altogether...but odd that there's nothing out there about it yet.
The new Fire/Dragon looks interesting though.
That new turtle look bizarre to you? Well it's based on this one: The Mata Mata.

Nice to see an obscure species be represented in anything.
Honestly, I love how it's two letters away from my 20+ year old nickname.
So some recent trailers revealed some interesting information.

English Trailer:

Japanese Trailer:

First interesting thing: The Sun and Moon versions are "set twelve hours apart". Does that mean that the day/night cycle in the Moon version is reversed based on your system clock? This might have an effect on people's version preferences; if you're someone who works all day and only gets to play in the evening, for example, having a reversed day/night system may benefit you.

Secondly there appears to be a photographing functionality that seems like it's meant to be a successor to Pokemon Snap. Whether or not it is actually as fun as Snap, I think it does a good job at making the pokemon world seem more alive.

Thirdly we're introduced to the second artificially created Pokemon for this generation. This one appears to be more of a genetic monstrosity unlike the previous one which was more of a robot. The Japanese trailer reveals that it is being used by one of the Team Skull enforcers.

Fourthly they introduce a new organization that is a rival to Team Skull. They appear to be good guys in the trailer, but I personally think it would make a great plot twist if it turns out they're not as good as they seem. Also, the blonde lady with the weird flat hair looks like she may be related to the Team Skull enforcer that is also introduced in this video. She also looks evil as shit to me but that's just my opinion. Maybe she's a double agent? It would certainly explain how her alleged brother obtained a lab-created pokemon.
I don't think them pulling the "But the team is really evil" thing again (see Pokemon PETA in Black and White with Plasma) is going to be all that impressive. Having an actual good team for once that you can get involved in, or even join would be more interesting story wise.
I'm all about those two new primate Pokemon, especially Oranguru. He's probably going to be one of my new favorites, and he looks incredible for doubles battles.
Pokeballs out for Harambe.

Atleast, that's all the orangutan Pokemon makes me think of.

I've got my Dex out for Oranguru =)

I need to learn all about the Alola Region's diverse breadth of Pokemon!!!!!!!!
These Harambe memes are getting out of hand, to be honest. With too many many idiots confusing an orangutan with a gorilla right now.
It make more sense with memes based around King Louie, Dr. Zaius, or Lanky Kong.
To be fair... It's rather built more like a gorilla instead of an orangatuan, I would associate small legs and body with really long arms with that
