I did. But then I think of Crusade, Smash Flash, etc. And they're able to stay up just fine. Smile

I guess SSB fangames are relatively safe? Since most don't ONLY use Nintendo properties?

Anyway, I'm thinking of coming back a little earlier than expected to public updates. We'll see, I'm still undecided.
I mean, you could always just change the title simply to "Project Feud" and then once you're actually ready to release just be like "Oh hey, wouldnt it be neat if this were Super Smash Bros Feud? Whoa look at that, it is!"

I really hope he does!  Wink

I think it's important to note that those games are using sprites while yours is the first I've ever seen using 3D elements. Nintendo might view this project as more of a threat for that reason.
I realize that. But they still use the characters.

Which is why my 3D assets will be mostly custom made rather than using ripped fighter models. A handful have ripped models, but they've been heavily edited or retooled just for the project. Later on I might remake them too, we'll see.

Assist Trophies, trophies, Poke Ball Pokemon ,etc, are much lower priority to remake models for.
Is the game cancelled yet?

No, but I'll go cancel you right now.

In your dreams!

Thank you, RTB. Much apprecated!

To make things better I finished my Mario custom model!
I don't understand why that dude suddenly became so hostile? Earlier in the thread he seemed to be an avid follower of your progress.

Long story short: a cyber-bully in disguise who played nice to me, then I called him out for being a jerk. I also had a little fun with him because his trolling didn't affect me. He's had a vendetta against me and Feud since. Tongue Loser.

Anyway! Back on topic, shall we? Wink

Now that Mario's done modelling, I'm working on the animations. I'll be able to use the to test the rigging.

EDIT: Feud is also getting a Wix site and I may also open a Discord server!
I find it kinda funny how he seemed to be really interested in the game's development and then he just outta nowhere decided to go call it a piece of shit and compare it to Sonic 06, as well as shamelessly promoting his own fangame.

Anyways, I really dig how those menus look, they seem very professional. Keep it up!
Wow, thanks so much, Snessy! I love the menus too, I'm proud of how they ended up looking. Smile

Now I'm just frustrated though. Mario is finished being modelled, I've started skinning/rigging as well as texturing him, but I've discovered that any skin modifier that's not a single bind breaks the normals on that object on his model.

Here, let me demo.

The overalls' normals are completely flat, except on the side. Nothing I do fixes this. I'm downloading another Max version (2016 instead of 2015) and will try with that.

Many plugins exists to fix normals for 3DS Max, to unify them or flip. I advise you to check some of them and see if they works with your model.
Well, everything on the Max plugins side is commercial, and I'm not Bill Gates, so... lol.

Running it through Noesis with -smoothnorm seems to do the trick and Unity even takes it. What a blessing!!

Now I can go back to rigging!
Okey dokey! Double post time!

So we finally have a release date for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate! Dec. 7, 2018. And so far it's rocking my socks off. Are you hyped?? I'm excited as heck. This Smash seems mainly about fan requests.

So much so that I'm more fired up than ever to develop Smash Bros. Feud. I'm ramping up my efforts "up to eleven"!

So I have some news on that front.

-I've made a couple of "executive?" decisions about Super Smash Bros. Feud that I think everyone will like. Stay tuned!
-I'm pushing back public content updates to a few months later than planned and promised. This is to give people time to play and enjoy Ultimate, not to garner attention away from Ultimate, as well as polish up anything I've made. As in for now, I have issues with sloped collisions on stages for instance.
-I noticed Ultimate runs on Unreal Engine. Which means its guts might be ripped and datamined for me to look at if / when the files become available for modding. So up until then, I will work on content that does NOT entail desired stuff new to Ultimate.

So that's it for now. Smile
