Huh I was expecting something from the TSR Lounge banned him.

Pokemon is about adventure!

And so much grinding.

So this has nothing to do with the grinding everyone's talking about, but at a college dance earlier this year, a friend asked me if I wanted to dance, and she just started grinding me... I hate grinding, pokemone-wise and "dance-wise"

To be fairly honest, I kind of felt like that would have been the case too.

This isn't really this place to talk about it though... (although I have to admit one thing, it felt like he was asking for it by the time he made that topic about his reputation being neutral. that might have just been me though.)

Where is Segnir when you need him.
Yeah back to Gen 3!

...

Still don't like it.
uhhh what's even going on here?

It looks like you guys are engaging in two separate conversations here or something; Chad, I'm pretty sure they're not talking about you.

Azure Tranquility got banned in this thread because a lot of stuff piled on top of each other and that just happened to be the straw that broke that camel's back.

Can we stop derailing, please?
I thought that Chad was secretly ChaoticYoshi for a second there.

Embarassed
Gen3 was lackluster compared to gen2 because it lacked a lot of the stuff that made gen2 awesome

like abilities and double battles and a varied world map
*walks through kanto AND johto; sees nothing but fields and forests*
Yeah man, Gen 2 really gets some undeserved attention. My problems with the game was the amount of grinding I had to do in the main. And I mean, what the fuck, Lance has two fucking dragonites.

Gen 3 was a real improvement, system-wise.

well granted that you don't consider that gen 2 added some gameplay elements like day/night cycle, breeding, and an early berry system, dark/steel types, and a shit load of balancing compared to gen 1, you're right.

Like it or not, generation two was a step up. Sure, there wasn't much far as exploration goes, but it at least tried to improve on the core gameplay of pokemon in general. That said, I should point out exploration means nothing unless the gameplay is actually good in an RPG. Even if you don't want to admit it, generation 2, deserves the respect it gets.
Oh I don't doubt Gen 2 made many mechanical improvements. BUT that doesn't mean we can forget all the ones gen 3 made. It's sad they took a lot of it out such as backtracking regions and the radio, but realistically every game after GSC can't have had it all. I think they did a good job weeding out what was necessary and unnecessary moving into gen 3. Also you can't deny that the physical/special split was probably the best thing that happened to Pokemon (gen 4).

So simply saying the added features in gen 2 makes it best doesn't do it for me.

EDIT: Would also like to state my stance on the whole subject of best gen is split: Gen 3 had the best Pokemon and region. Best GAME? Probably GSC or HG/SS or Emerald.

Couldn't disagree with you more. That's what made me dislike that generation. Not the gameplay, but the Pokemon and region. They were the worst in the series to me.

No actually that's not true I think Gen 4 had the worst region. Being mostly in a cave or swamp. But Gen 3 had the worst Pokemon in my opinion.

And it was such simple stuff too, that could easily be fixed.

Doesn't that look a thousand time better? All I did was change the eye and its charm level went up tenfold!
I really don't like that...
I love the designs in Gen 3 and it's are a large reason of why I consider it the best.
