That's correct.

Also, gen 3 has the best soundtrack.
Theese games need to be remade.
I definitely agree with YoYo; gen 3's music was the best out of all gens by far (Underwater theme + Elite Four, oh yes).
It was the most nostalgic for me, and has most of my favorite pokemon. The only thing that would be better would be a gen 5 remake.

TBH, while I like the actual pokemon in Gen 2, I don't really like the games that much. I feel like most of the pokemon offered in the beginning of the game were mainly kanto and a few early Johto ones, while it really didn't pick up until around Olivine city.
If I had to organize the gens from favorite to least favorite it would most likely be 3>5=1>2>4
I actually went back and tried to play Blue... Sad

However, Yellow is the best Gen 1 game. No lie.
Yellow is the best if you can actually evolve Pikachu... it's so weak that I couldn't even beat Misty's Starmie at level 19 or 20 or something without reloading 50 times.
My beef with yellow is no growlithe until pokemon mansion, unless you trade. Or gameshark. ...Maybe I'll use gameshark.
Yellow has a pretty damn good roster regardless.

Also, being able to get Mankey in Route 3 is BOSS. Being able to get all 3 starters in addition to a freebie Pikachu is AWESOME. Charizard being able to learn Fly makes SENSE.

But yeah, no Raichu can be a dealbreaker to some. Good thing I have Blue for Raichu.

Thats what we have MIDIs and soundfonts for.

Uhh WOW, that sounds like it could be a legitimate song in a Gen 5 remake. Almost makes me want one now... :o

Slightly off-topic (or not), but this is awesome.

...and THIS is mind blowing as all get out
The only reason Gen 3 wasn't really liked because when Ruby and Sapphire came out, there was no Gen 1 & 2 trading.

So you couldn't use your Level 100 Charizard from Red version...

I DO remember being irritated about that, now that you bring it up.
Here's something nobody ever says, ever;

Generation 3 has the best region with the most potential for a great expansion if there were to be a remake. You live in an area that is mostly submerged in water, and there is a lot of emphasis on exploring the seas... even exploring inside of the seas.
seriously how fucking excited were you when you learned that you could DIVE UNDERWATER

they unfortunately didn't give dive areas much content but there is just so much potential for the idea and I would love to see it reintroduced.
I dunno. I found the abundance of water routes, and by extention the dependence on Water HMs to be quite annoying after a while.

Though I'm not gonna lie, I found diving underwater a fresh experience at the time. Kinda odd how it hasen't been re-used to that extent since.(Was Dive even in Gen 4?)
Dive was in Gen 4, but not as an HM. Or a TM.
Diving was cool though, Gen 5 should've expanded diving instead of just finding treasures.

(i was so fucking pissed when I couldn't sootopolis city though.)
