Custom sprites are our huge dilemma right now. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Seperate Section named custom. Place them in abc order.

Maybe, if we do a seperate section for each game, we could make it so when we click on, for example, Super Mario World, we'd be brought to a page where it would say "rips" or "custom/edited".

Hope I helped a little...

Sounds a bit like how tSR was before the newer system/layout. I'll vote for that.

Agreed.
This or just adding a "Custom" section under each game like this

---------------------------------
(regular sprites here)

Customs
(custom sprites goes here)
---------------------------------

Not to mention the obvious "custom" tag to go with the search box
It may get confusing which customs go with which games.

I suggest that customs of the same style go on the same page, while customs of a unique style go on another page.

Reason being: for example, there are tons of custom Mario sheets, that can't belong to a specific game page. However there is a Super Mario World: Extra Mario Poses sheet can go under the SMW game page.

Basically what sky_blue_wigger said.
This is just a thought, but perhaps the new tSR could have a separate directory for new submissions, where people could vote on the ones they thought were most complete and well done?
I love the new text look on the home page and the search and text-icon buttions have moved good job dazz and team. I wonder if everybody will finaly notice the search funtion.
We've had to move the search back due to it breaking everything.
We'll work on it in the future.
We're also still working on the index page.
It's still a big change for the text on the front page. I still see changes being made they are looking great.
I really don't know how to express what I'm thinking in a way that will not be dismissed as garbage, but the new system is difficult.
Would it be possible to add an advanced search with things like search for series or find related pages?

"o" before each is the little circle you select

The new system's okay, but added search features would help alot. The search bar currently does not do exact text matches: Type in "Metal sonic" after selecting games and sheets and you'll get Metal Slug and all sonic games/sprites with what you wanted. It makes things harder and not easier like it is supposed to. With an advanced search like above, you satisfy the wants of everyone and keep the new and mostly efficient system that is easy to use and navigate. (the advanced search would have its own page to take up less space)
I am considering an advanced search, however some options you mentioned are not going to be possible.
You're asking us to go and tag over 16,000 files with company names and series, with various random tags, and with other stuff we don't have the time to do.

We can however try setting up an advanced search that allows you to search a console specificly.

I'd love to make tSR the most extensive system ever with so many details on every sheet, but I seriously do not have the time. tSR is not my full time job.

How about what Spartan said, but at the bottom of the game's section put "click here to see custom sprites for this game", or in the case of a certain style, like M&LUnsureS you can replace game with style?

Sounds like a good update to the search system, at least for a start. But focus on only one thing at a time, Dazz, or you'll find yourself overworked past the point of death. Wink

That'd be nice. VERY NICE.

Man, you should be paid for putting in your time, Dazz. Or delegate others to help you organize the site. That's why you have fellow admins, right?

You know, that's not a bad idea. Maybe there should be like a shop or something? Something with a little more income than a "donate" button.
