Yes.
We already agreed on that perspective a long time ago didn't we?
Im not sure if i was here when the perspective was chosen, but (imo) its not the best for smash, but thats just me.
At least not to that extent
I remember, it was discussed here a long time ago:
http://www.spriters-resource.com/communi...p?tid=4664
And discussed somewhere else too (A little more recently).
Thanks for the link, but i think that the platform doenst have to be so edgy, Im pretty sure we can still have curves and stuff just not to show depth (like what i did on the very edges of the platform and the tiles) but we could still use curves if the part of the platform should have curves like the platform.
I'm poppin' here to say that Iceman's perspective works better for the game

because the first one doesn't fit with the character's feet, and the second one makes edge-grabbing harder to sprite.
I love the work so far Iceman, but I think the center platform is far too thin. I just tried replacing it with Kyleglor's.

Also, I just thought I'd remind you guys of the mossy look we should work to achieve. Okay, look, I know my prototype moss is absolutely horrible looking, but I just threw it on in roughly a minute, to give some vague idea. I added no shading, or anything for that matter. This update was essentially to enlargen the center vertical part of the map.

Did you read anything we just said about the perspective?
The shape of the icon still bugging me.

Also, vote for iceman perspective.
The portion of the main platform above the icon doesn't read right at all. It doesn't make sense to me.
What Kriven said; I think there need to be 45-degree-angled lines at the corners closest to the Smash Ball.

EDIT:

That at the very least. It still looks a bit messed up when that dark grey changes to the darker grey suddenly. The perspective in general, however, is quite good. (The left-to-right perpesctive, that is)
Well i believe the greys right now are simply place holders, As for the platform i dont think the Rupee (cant think of a better way to discribe) shape works for it, mabey if it was rounded or something.
as for the left to right perspective thats one of things me and iceman were discussing, and for various reasons isometric will work better (look at Gors post)

Right now i think we should focus on the lower half

I sure did. I merely disagreed with it. I don't think it looks right with the very slim center vertical ground bit.
First off, we NEED a little bit of angle in the perspective otherwise one of the feet will look elevated.

We all know that already. We're talking about the perspective type.

Which we've already discussed a long time ago in other threads, that we will be using the straight top view and no 45 degree angles unless the level is really shaped like that. There are obvious reasons as to why we should use this type.
well, if you guys have a lot of trouble with that, see Kirby Super Star, for example. It uses Iceman's perspective quite well.

I'd like to use the second one myself, but how are you going to make a edge-grab sprite with that kind of perspective?
