I still think they should release a metroidvania-ish game starring Knuckles and Rouge. Give him some gameplay depth beyond him being "Angry Red Sonic".

and no, I don't care about Sonic 4 but pretty much every discussion I've seen about it has been ridiculous.

Even Rokkan said some positive things about the game. And understands why people would like it.

I don't see any reason to pretend a game you think is garbage is anything but that... it's a game you can't hurt its feelings.

well yeah, because now sega gave us something superficially sorta close to what we wanted, kind of (WARNING SIREN TO REMIND ALL WHINY BABIES ITT: I'M NOT SAYING THIS GAME IS ABSOLUTE SHIT, THIS IS NOT SONIC 2K6, IT'S NOT THAT BAD) and the smart people are going to see "oh, actually this isn't really quite right at all, it's good bit off in several important ways" and the whiny babies are gonna go "waaah you guys are never happy" and some people just seem destined to be whiny babies
so basically if it is splitting it it's because it's confronting the sega fanbase with a fundamental character flaw they have

I think if there would be anything to be angry about (Or split the fan base down some more) it's the fact all that fan made stuff will never see final release. That? Is a REAL tragedy and problem onto itself.

So yeah, I'll be getting Sonic 4 once I'll get the money for it, or I'll at least try the game on XBLA. I mean, I'm the type of gamer who first tries then judges.

You're saying this as if all of us haven't played Sonic 4 ourselves. I'd hardly call it a bad game as it is very good in its own right, but its as similar to the Genesis Sonic games as Mario games are to Kirby games. Basically my problem with it is that they're taking a game that in many ways (Physics, graphics style, music, etc.) is VERY different from the classic series and is calling it a sequel to that.

I guess I'm a little butthurt thinking about what it could have been. But I had really, really hoped that this would be as much like the Genesis Sonic games as they said it was going to be. So basically there was false advertising IMO and then on top of that they want $15 for the game and only part 1 at that. And its really kind of stupid that I can pay $10 to get Perfect Dark on the XBLA and a much smaller game like this is worth more.

Yes, I'll probably get it eventually. But right now I can't find myself enjoying the game enough to warrant buying it for number of reasons.
