Suggestions
Considering the madness of the now archived Gaming Discussion maybe something about not being passive aggressive needs to be added under the friendly section in rules.

How about sending all the people who just joined TSR a email or mail or whatever with all the links to tutorials, rules and places on the site, that way we can all know where to go if we have a question and if we need something?

PS: if you take my idea, can you send me that email too?

I support the links to rules. But the tutorials? Honestly? You can just go in the section you want tutorials for.

Well, maybe a link (or mention of) the QIT section, since some people seem to miss it (possibly due to it being way at the bottom EDIT: evidence). That way people can find tutorials, but then PS2 model rippers won't be linked to "how to use Tinke" Tongue

It depends on how lazy new members are, really. They should at least scroll down to the bottom of tSR community index to get familiar with where everything goes. TSR community is incredibly organised

There we go, NOW we're in the right spot.. I think.

The SMK style sprites in the Sonic Customs section should be their own row. What I mean is like this, as an reorganization:

--- Sonic The Hedgehog

--- SMK Style Sonic The Hedgehog Cast

There's going to be changes to the Custom Sprite section coming soon. Let's wait and see what happens.

I just thought of something that might be neat:

Code:
[user=ID]

And in the post, it displays the current user name of the user with the given ID. Would be great for lists of people like in the friendcode topics.

While a good idea, the trouble with a tag like like that is that it requires a database call - user information for every user isn't just natively available to everyone at all times and MyBB provides no way to create a tag with that kind of dynamic functionality. When creating custom tags, you can only supply the MyBB version and its HTML equivilent.

It likely could be accomplished with a little bit of jQuery (or some other AJAX library) but to install the entire library for that one feature when you could just link to the user directly (a bit more inconvenient, I'll admit, but not terribly difficult) seems like a little overkill. The point is though, it's definitely not as simple as just adding that tag.

Well, I didn't expect it to be, but it could have been. Haven't worked with the myBB software myself so I don't know about its limits.
I'm not a huge fan of the name changing anyways!

Yeah, that's totally understandable and like I said, a good suggestion. Just not an easy one to accomplish within the confines of the forum software.

This isn't important, but I think it would be neccessary to remove the "add attachment" button from the Add Reply page. Since attachments aren't allowed and so new members don't accidently add them to their posts.

Done. I think.
Tsunami Bomb - The Simple Truth
We could run away
Leave behind anything paper
Not knowing where we're going to stay
When there's no Mondays

You're part of me, it's so easy to see the simple truth
When I'm in your arms, I feel safe from harm and sorrow too
You're part of me, it's so easy to see the simple truth
But most of all, nothing couldn't be solved when I'm with you

Having a July sprite activity, or just a general monthly activity in Spriting and Pixel Art would be a really neat idea. I know it might be difficult for someone to have to think of an activity every month, but the June one worked really well, and it was a cool concept :]

Possible suggestions for activities:
-Devamp a newer sprite (BW pokemon to RBY, Modern Genesis-esque, etc.)
-Create a pixel art provided a certain color palette
-fill in the silhouette (like in T.U.G.S)
etc. etc.

One idea for the July activity was to create mugshots/portraits within a style. Participants could make not just VG characters but movie characters, historical figures, musicians or even their own made-up characters.
