So I was fooling with Zelda 3 style~
#16
I know. I just made it because it was fun to make.

Well I'll see what I can do. MC had it that way though...

I really like the look of the Vaati and Samus sprites. I reckon Vaati's animation looks a little TOO good for LttP though.

New animation - Walking:

Yeah, the walking animation looks more in the style. Except for you should reverse the cap's direction. If his foot is going back, the cap should tend to move in the other direction, since his spine rotates that way.

Try walking like that and see how far you get.

If his left leg goes back, then his right one goes forward. When most people walk, they're body turns in the direction of the leg that's in front. So his hat is completely correct. Get up and try it.

Besides, thats how MC had it (yeah I know I keep using that as an excuse for everything, but srsly).

No, I'm pretty sure the hat would move toward the direction of the extending leg.

Actually, the hat wouldn't move at all! It should stay static the entire walk cycle, since the body is moving ahead of the cap, so the cap should never bump into the body unless he stops.

Are you guys sure? When I walk, I put my right foot forward, while the rest of my body turns clockwise, which would mean that, if I had a hat like that, it would be pointing toward my back leg.

Argue if you will, but I'd like to keep it the way MC had it.

Edit: Then again, I guess it just depends on how the person walks, weather or not they turn their head etc. But.. yeah, MC, etc.

Then you'd be breaking Zelda 3 style.

These are great!
Just a question how do you animate sprites?

Except Vaati isn't Link. Most characters move differently. And if I made his cap like that (short & static), it would seem weird. I'll try it though to see how it looks.

@Treedog, I don't quite get your meaning. Vaati's Human form has only ever been in one game.

@Yak, I use Microsoft Gif Animator. Use Google to find it.

Well I don't mean copy Link exactly. The point I'm making is see how everything is exaggerated motion? If you intend to keep Zelda 3 style, you should have Vaati move in an exaggerated motion.

That is if you even want to meet Zelda 3 style. There's nothing wrong going totally custom without meeting any style.

Yeah. As a custom, that sprite's pretty well-done already! As Zelda 3-style, it could definitely use some improvement.

Well the point of this was to learn Z3 style.. :s

What exactly do you mean by exaggerated motion?
