There's plenty of people on here that are the same way. If I took CBL's TFR sprite, coloured it green, and used it for a Farnham without even asking for permission, he could tell me not to use his stuff. And he's fully right for doing so. Oh, so it's a common practice for people not to ask for permission? That doesn't make it any less right. There's also a huge difference between using an IP to make a sprite with and using someone else's sprites for a game. My problem isn't even with the dude using the sprites without permission. It's more of the fact that the dude who made the sprites came on here to say that he didn't want them to be used without permission and people kind of shitted on him

Well if it's wrong to use someone else's sprites without permission, regardless of credit or monetary gain, then by your logic, SSF2 shouldn't have been made at all. I guarantee they didn't have permission from everyone who made those sprites. And while Jitter may have agreed not to use them, do you think that if someone like Nintendo said to stop using their Mario sprites, that everyone would? I'm not saying art theft is OK, but in the case of a free fangame, what's the harm in it? In fact, Damien letting someone else use his sprites as long as they give credit would be better for him since more people would see his work and know where to go to find more of it if they like it. It's free publicity that way, and all he has to do is say "Hey, Jitter, I see you're using my sprites. Please remember to credit me, OK?"

I'm siding with Sportoise. The issue was usage of sprites with denied permission. In any and all cases, despite any pros from allowing permission, usage is denied. This is different than simply *not having permission from an author without his consent because he publicly made it known.

*Meaning that the author neither allowed or denied permission due to being unaware.

None of the reason you gave Midi are objectively valid. What SSF does holds no weight here. Neither does Nintendo's failure in attempt if everyone continues to use their stuff anyways. Someone else robbing a bank and succeeding doesn't justify you doing so too.

Any pros given can change his mind. However, in this situation, they mean nothing. Damien denied permission.

Neither sportoise or steven(damian) downloaded the first version.
The sprites used in the first was.
Mario portrait from BRAWL not ssf2
And link port was one made by semijuggalo.
This problem could had been simply solved if damian had downloaded it. : P
And theres more.
The ones from the last uploaded were one made by quirby64 the other was by kakarouto soft. And the 2 othrrs by me.
And i dont think sportoise dislikes me.
He dislikes every newbie that dont sprite good.
I recall he calling quirby64 shit in quiby64's tfr thread

Oh. If that's the case, I'm sorry man. I was judging off the screenshot and assumed you were using that as the CSS. I can't download games from my phone, and I only post on my phone. My bad bro

And in Quirby's case, I don't remember calling him shit. I wrote a lengthy post because he was ignoring a lot of talented individuals that were giving him advice on how to improve his sprite for a site wide fighting game project.

I don't hate inexperienced new people. On the contrary. I'm just not overtly nice to someone because they're new

I thought the issue was the way Damian called him out. Also, I reiterate, THEY'RE PLACEHOLDERS; they won't be in the final game! Why is that even a big deal in the first place. This all should have ended when Jitter made that plain as day that they're just placeholders.

Also, are you seriously comparing using someone else's pixel art in a fan game (still as PLACEHOLDERS) to robbing a bank? Using sprites in a fan game that makes no money and is not used to discredit or slander anyone is harmless. Let me make it clear that I'm not saying that justifies anything; it's just harmless. Robbing a bank, on the other hand, is not harmless; it affects a lot of people, it's a felony, it could even get you killed. How can you compare the two?

I don't think he was really comparing sprite theft to a bank robbery. He was using it as an example to say just because someone else does something wrong, doesn't mean it's still not wrong. However, I believe the point is moot because evidently Jitter hasn't been using the unauthorized sprites in the version of his game that he's uploaded, which no one felt the need to bring up, even the people that have been defending him

Game ain't dead!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, i kind of stoped developing thus, but then last week i decided to continue...
So i have programed everything AGAIN from scratch...

(I am going to use thus camera script, i found on yoyo games, made by MikeMoore, since it's better than mine's camera, but i assure you everything else(I mean the coding) is 100% Custom.
