ok so i was taking a piss and suddenly an idea hit me

here it is:

Plot:
three astronauts go into space sometime in the future
for a 20-50 years. their mission was simply to explore.
when they come back after their mission, all of the data
they needed to collect collected, they realize that
nuclear holocaust had happened and that every living
human being had been killed. of course, the astronauts
burst into tears, realizing that their family and all their
loved ones had parished. one of the astronauts takes a
gun and kills himself, the others cry some more and
move on. they go to the place they know the best, their
NASA base and look for any kind of hope or evidence
of what had happened. one of the astronauts finds a
video tape, the two astronauts watch it and on it they
find out that three of the smartest scientists were frozen
in the only chemical able to withstand nuclear effect.
they were kept in various parts of the world. the
astronauts' mission is to find the three scientists and get
them to build a machine capable of going back in time
and preventing what had happened.

sound good? because idk

damnit i knew there was something wrong there

lets see UH

wait yeah that works too, instead of finding the message at the base they just recieve it on the ship, find out that they're humanity's last hope, etc etc

Maybe they couldn't send the messages in time because nukes.
Also they could have been 20-50 lightyears away, etc.

yeah, the nasa base couldve been the first place that got effected by a surprise nuclear attack and the holocaust just expanded from there

idk, either way works but doesn't really effect the main plot

well no that also woudn't work because they go there since it's the place they know best
but it got hit by a nuke
so it's levelled
um :/

well i was thinking it was more of the ruins of the place and the tape was covered in that material that survives nuclear fuck holocausts

how the hell would a tape survive being in the dead center of a nuclear blast

Also, they could find a working television to watch the tape on? Electricity is still available?

Or is this an audio tape?

the tape is made from some sort of blackbox material so that it can withstand even a nuke

duh

A nuclear war's purpose is not to destroy mankind, but use the massive range of EMP's to destroy very bit of technology (PC's, cars, ovens), reducing them to cannibalistic savages. If this could all be twisted into working, i dunno. Nobody would really care, it's just more realistic.

Sounds good.. and about the message getting to them, messages can only travel light speed, they were probably traveling much faster..

Quote:Also, they could find a working television to watch the tape on? Electricity is still available?
Electricity would work for a long while after humans are gone, at least a few weeks. But by this time, we should have an unlimited supply of electricity made..

The tape.. probably shouldn't be a tape, in the future, tapes will be completely obsolete(they almost are now).. A DVD or somethin would wistand a nuke.. I'm pretty sure, as long as it wasn't directly in the blast area..

that's all from me Big Grin

If ya need any help, send me a PM, I'd be glad to help with this(in GM7, of course)!
I've got a fancy little website, if you'd like to click here and check it out.
