The animations right now just seem too stiff and uninteresting. The signature quality of the Pikman running cycle is, for me at least, the way they always lean backwards while running. It makes them unique in that sense. They are also in desperate need of a leaf on their head, unless we're going on with this without them and/or adding them afterwards..

I think it's better, but it's still missing the jello-like quality that the Pikmen always have while running around. I suggest looking at a few videos of Olimar in SSBB, or just Pikmen in general to see that they tend to lean back quite a bit while they're running. Because of their size, they hardly ever walk to catch up with Olimar, and I just don't really see anything too exciting in what you have now.

Bear in mind, I'm no artist, but I have some big problems with the current sheet.

Exactly. Pikmin are, let's face it, goofy. You need to make it so that they are silly little creatures, who move as though they are jelly from the non-existant knees up.

Keep in mind he did say these sprites were of the Pikmin's walk. The running, of course, should look really goofy. As a lot of others have said, they need to lean backwards. Something like this is what I had in mind:

Me too. In Brawl and, I believe, Pikmin 1 & 2, they coudn't keep up with him, so they always ran. Oh well. Maybe they could walk if he has a crawling animation?

Have you ever seen a running animation? The legs are supposed to go all the way forward and back, then meet up in the middle with one of the legs lifted to take another step forward. And they should be a full motion. Yours looks like he's trying to run but then all of a sudden he gets severe leg pain and starts limping while the other leg kicks forward.
