Patience.
I think you use too many hues, and I also think the bros look strange (walking animation). In the animation, you seem to have only moved the legs and not the backside (it seems to have disappeared). The proportions seem a little off (hat/head), and the lineart could do with some polishing/smoothening (less jagged, maybe AA).
On the lookout for updates.

AA: Anti-Aliasing, smoothening the borders with different shades so it blends a bit with the background colour.

I like the goomba you did. It looks so cute.
I'm not afraid to ask for help when needed, in exchange for random tidbits of information.

Help needed: Can someone touch up a PkMn trainer sprite i did? it's kind of blurry.
