Is there a preferred NES palette?
#1
Hi, everyone. It's been a while since I made a thread on this forum. Big Grin

I started playing NES games not too long ago, and I noticed that some games on TSR are either incomplete or missing entirely.

I thought about ripping a few, but then I remembered...

The NES doesn't have a definitive palette, does it?

Is there a palette that people tend to prefer, or would any do?

Thanks!

Not an NES ripper, but maybe this helps:
Yawackhary Wrote:it means that a lot of palette files were made and what palette is personal preference. e.g. someone might like FirebrandX's palettes or someone might like the Sony CVX palette. There are a lot more but those are the two that get mentioned a lot.

Then this:

Btw, this one here is very good:

Jermungandr's Kirby rips have really nice colours, imo. Not sure what the palette is called, though.

You can see how it compares to other palettes on the Meta Knight sheet by Someguy, who used a very pale palette:

Someguy also made a mistake by accidentally putting one of this colours on Drshnaps palette showcased on the left sheet. For some reason he also left a light blue border on that palette.
I corrected both of that for my recolour on the right.
