Tears of the Kingdom compressed models
#1
Sad
hi! i extracted romfs from totk and i put it through switch toolbox, but the models are compressed to .bfres.mc and .bfres.zs and i'm not sure why it won't let me save the models as .dae.
i'm new to modding and these things so note that i have 0 idea what any vocabulary is pertaining to modding

There is a guide for the zs files here: https://github.com/KillzXGaming/Switch-T...1535947535
But those are just the animations afaik. The models are compressed to .mc / MCPK which as far as I can tell is a custom format by nintendo. EDIT: It also seems to be a zstd archive: See for https://github.com/KillzXGaming/Switch-T...issues/593 more info. It doesn't seem anyone has cracked it yet.
TLDR the game came out only a few days ago and its still too early to be able to easily convert models to dae. you might have to wait a bit longer for people to make an extractor for .mc first

EDIT: It's now possible to extract mc files, but it requires that you run the game with an exefs mod: https://gamebanana.com/tools/13236
