Link a model for feedback before submitting?
#1
Hi people,
I've been trying to rip some models from the PC game "Alice Madness Returns". I managed to produce some results, but i'd like some feedback, to know if i missed something important or if it is good enough to be submitted.
Is there a way I can post it here so that someone could give it a look? It's not that heavy (~7Mo) but still too heavy to be included here as an attachment. Is dropping a link like wetransfer or something fine?
Thanks in advance everyone!

I hope I'm not doing anything from, but I'll still add a link to the data I'd like feedback for, if that's okay. I ma de a WeTransfer link with both the Model I ripped, and the original game data for comparison. Obviously, I promise that those are perfectly file to download.
It is the character of the White King from Alice Madness Returns on PC, based on Unreal Engine 3.
I am slightly skeptical because i feel like a shader i used is greener than it should be, but every feedback is appreciated!
I worked on Blender so i can obviously also send an .blend file for further review is anyone is willing to.

The link will expire on the 22 of january 2023 (next sunday)

Thanks in advance everyone, feel absolutely free to point every issue to me!

You can start by checking it with the Model Checker tool. It will tell you you need to fix the texture paths in the MTL. See the wiki if you need help fixing them.

Thank you for your feedback! I'm a bit surprised because i thought that Blender made relative path by default... well this should be easy-ish to fix. Many thanks!

So, I tried another one, and used the tool you recommended. From a technical standpoint, everything seems fine, it got greenlighted. However, I am not completely sure about the visual result : when opened in Blender, it looks fine, I don't see any real issue. However, when opened with windows' 3D Viewer, it feels clearly off. There must be something about shader's transparency that i failed to implement, or something. Could someone check the following model and confirm my feeling, and even maybe give me a hint in the right direction?

I included both the ripped model and the original data for comparison.
The WeTransfer link will expire on the 22 of january 2023.
Thanks in advance! I hope i'm close to having satisfying results and being able to submit some of my favorite models in the near future!

As long as the colour texture is attached correctly, don't worry about materials looking weird when you reimport. Materials basically don't ever export/import well and it won't affect how good the submission is. Maybe attach a readme file if you need to explain something for how it should be set up, but that's about it.

Yeah, but I'd rather not send flawed submissions if it can be avoided :/ well, I also suppose that if all parts of the model are included (model + textures etc) people could adapt it to their need themselves... I dunno
