Hello! (amateur pixel artist)

Thumbs Up
Hi!

New to the forum, but I've been visiting Spriters Resource off and on for over a decade just to look at all the cool stuff. Long story short, I've been drawing for fun since I could hold a pencil, playing video games since around 1990, posting art online since 2007, I've made 8 Flash games since 2008, started selling merch with my art on it in 2010, and officially started teaching myself pixel art in August.

I basically gave myself assignments so I could get some practice. I literally started by redrawing a bunch of sprites one pixel at a time, did a few simple modifications, and then did my first big project, 210 sprite edits (21 characters in 10 styles). I've also done about 30 Game Boy demakes and several "mini sprites", as well as something I came up with that I call "nanosprites" (characters made using EXACTLY 10 pixels), which are super fun! I just recently finished my first few completely original sprites based on one of my own characters.

I've got a few more assignments to go for "8-bit" or NES style sprites, do some tile and background work, and eventually do it all over again for 16-bit SNES style. My goal is to make several new games in each style.

That's about it. You can see all of my art on deviantART (same user name, link also in my profile), and I'll be posting some sprites here in the forum as well. I hope you enjoy my work, and I hope to learn from everyone here.
