Unknowni123's Sound Rips
#1
Hello! Most of these rips are already hosted on TSoR, find them there.

Rips in Progress:
SNES - Super Metroid
PS2 - Neopets: The Darkest Faerie
Switch - No More Heroes III

Uploaded Rips:
PC - Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection
Status: Submitted (Nov. 2022)
Tools Used: None
Report: I just collaborated with Shiruba to organize the English voices for Mega Man ZX Advent. Easy.

3DS - Metroid: Samus Returns
Status: Submitted (Sep. 2022)
Tools Used: QuickBMS
Report: The king Bearborg helped a ton with this Metroid rip too, he altered the bms script to help assign filenames. Also MrCheeze's list of filenames were a huge help.

Arcade - Killer Instinct
Status: Complete (Jul. 2022)
Tools Used: M1
Report: I think someone already had all the sound effects, but I completed the rip and added the voices too.

N64 - Killer Instinct Gold
Status: Complete (Jul. 2022)
Tools Used: N64SoundListTool
Report: I hoped to rip Killer Instinct 2's sounds from the arcade version, but I couldn't get in. Had to make do with the N64 port.

SNES - Mario's Early Years! (trilogy)
Status: Complete (Jul. 2022)
Tools Used: SNESSoundRipper
Report: This was inspired by the Mario's Mystery Meat hack; I wanted to get all these voices available for the world. Required some pitch-shifting to make up for differing sample rates, but in the end it needed way less fidgeting than your usual SNES rip so I'm happy with it.

Switch - Metroid Dread
Status: Complete (Apr. 2022)
Tools Used: Citric Composer (modified by Bearborg)
Report: This one was a brutal effort, and in the end I wasn't even the one who figured out the method. Huge thanks to Bearborg.

Wii - Sonic and the Secret Rings
Status: Complete (Apr. 2022)
Tools Used: Dolphin and adXtract02(?)
Report: Boilingpot ripped most of the game's voices but only some of the sounds, so I went in and finished the job myself.

Wii - Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
Status: Basically complete (Oct. 2021)
Tools Used: PrimeWorldEditor
Report: So far I've got everything uploaded except for some environmental sounds. I remember wanting these files so badly as a kid (specifically Ridley and Samus' beam shots), it's nice to make my teenage self proud lmao.

Wii - Metroid: Other M
Status: Basically complete (Jan. 2021)
Tools Used: Dolphin and VideoGameSoundConverter
Report: Again, all that's left is environmental sound effects, though I have these ones submitted. I documented my clueless saga of this game's rip in a thread here.

PC - One-Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows
Status: Complete (Oct. 2020)
Tools Used: QuickBMS
Report: So the thing with this rip is that I was unable to keep designated filenames intact. Each character's battle clips are stored with their dialogue clips, which we're not uploading anymore. In the end I just excluded every voice file that was over 8 seconds long, iirc.

PS2 - Yu-Gi-Oh! The Duelists of the Roses
Status: Incomplete (Aug. 2020)
Tools Used: PSound
Report: This was a really fast rip because I was working on a little game dev project to remake DOR, but it never went anywhere. Iirc only the menu sounds were accepted because there were SO MANY monster sounds, it's actually insane how many monster assets are in that game, like it puts Pokemon to shame.

PC - Killer Instinct
Status: Complete (Jul. 2020)
Tools Used: KIpakOpener
Report: Finally got all the filenames, now it's done!

Wii - Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity
Status: Complete (Mar. 2020)
Tools Used: Dolphin and adXtract02
Report: I got the voice files, which is all I really set out to get, then rounded off the sounds. Should be all done.

PSP - Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy
Status: Incomplete (Mar. 2020)
Tools Used: PPSSPP and Audacity
Report: This one seems like it's been a collaborative effort for a while. I uploaded Chaos' voice clips in like 2014 as a teenager lol, and have redone them since. I didn't rip any files, I just recorded them from sound test. May be worth looking into (though if more experienced folks have already tried ripping to no avail, would I make a difference...?)

PS2 - Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories
Status: Outdated (2013-ish?)
Tools Used: Audio cable and a TV?
Only the Organization XIII voices. These rips aren't great, they're some of the first I ever did. I have no idea why the sound quality is so low - maybe cause I just recorded gameplay with the music off - but they're quite popular so I feel bad lol. I oughta re-rip and update the ones on the site.

thank you for your work ripping metroid sounds. Your sounds will be very helpful in a project I'm doing.

any chance you'd do a rip of super metroid sounds? the music is easy to find but as far as i can tell, the SM sound effects do not exist on the internet

Hey there! I was actually working on a Super Metroid rip for a while. Unfortunately there's no easy way to do it, because Super Metroid does a lot of pitch-shifting on its stored samples to make them sound certain ways, so my ripping process was playing the entire game with the music off and recording each sound from gameplay. I got pretty far, but there was still a lot to do.

Here's a link to what I had done so far: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4lr036zri8ob6o...1.zip?dl=0
It's not everything, but it's a pretty good amount.

that's amazing, thank you so much! this will be super helpful - especially the door sounds honestly haha.

would it be easy for you to target specific sounds using your method if i needed them?

the boss screeches/roars would be especially helpful for i.e. kraid and crocomire. i'll definitely be able to use ridley who is already in there.

Huge props to you for all the Metroid sound rips. Do you have any plans to do a sound rip of Metroid Prime Remastered?

Unknowni123 told me that Metroid Prime Remastered uses the same sounds as the Gamecube version so he concluded it was useless to resubmit everything.
