ClubSilo, a game made using the Blender Game Engine.
#1
I recently found out about other racing games being made in BGE (Chec out Jreo, Marvin and Fred K.S) And this motivated me to make my own racing game in Blender (UPBGE). I was searching one day about games made in BGE, and found out about ClubSilo. I found a post from BlenderArtists about the "latest" release of ClubSilo (1.1 at the time) which was posted all the way back in October of 2006. https://blenderartists.org/t/clubsilo-1-...oad/373173
Me being the usual kind of person to play the game, I clicked on the download link. It was down.
So I ended up spending a little bit of time finding a working link in the Wayback Machine, which worked.
I downloaded version 1.1 and it SPECIFICALLY told me to use Blender 2.42. I downloaded Blender 2.42a to ensure maxumum compatibility. I did get the game to work in the end but, it was unplayable. The start screen looked fine, I progressed to the car select and somehow was not able to select the car. Both Space and Enter worked perfectly fine when entering the start screen, so I figured it might be an issue with the controller being used. In the Demo video, you can see people using a steering wheel and pedals to play the game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hywz1C--Dxo
I was too tired to dive into the code of the game, and with Blender 2.42 having a very different layout I wasn't able to get to the logic bricks.
I also tried the game in UPBGE, the game (as expected) did not work at all.

Even if the game does not work as intended, it was really interesting for me to learn about games made in BGE.
Also Clubsilo was renamed later to "Mini37" and even had its own domain name "mini37.com" or "mini37.co.za" Which requires Flash 8 or higher.
Here are some pictures of the main car of ClubSilo:

I won't be posting the Mini model on Models-Resource because I fear that this game is not considered a "real" commercial game.
