Toad might need to be a pixel or two smaller than Mario. Other than that, it looks pretty good.

I decided to stick with the "as tall as Mario" Toad.
I have fixed the shading on his standing sprites and made walking sprites for him:

Sorry for my late reply.

Anyways, Toad looks good! But one thing I'd point out is that the front arm on walking frames 2, and 5 looks a little thicker and off than his front arm on the stand, and other walking frames. Other than that, I don't see any other problems with Toad.
