Ripping Models From Mario Superstar Baseball
#1
Hello!

I've been looking for some character models from some games for a few modding projects.  I've already been able to dump models from games like Mario Party 6, Super Mario 3D Land, and a few others, though there is one game that I've dumped but have been unable to obtain models from: Mario Superstar Baseball.  Since it was for the GameCube, I thought dumping the files for models would be similar to how other GameCube games were able to be dumped.  Looking through the game's files showed otherwise though, as there are no bmd files or other similar model filetypes.

However, there are two files which look like they could contain the data for most of the game's assets: aaaa.dat (1.46 MB) and ZZZZ.dat (4.52 MB).  Is there a way to extract from these dat files or look into them?  If not, is there another way to rip the models from this game?

I think BMDview2 only works for GameCube games developed by Nintendo EAD, Mario SuperStars Baseball is developed by  Namco.

You could use ninja ripper on dolphin emulator, just rip your copy of mario super star baseball or download an iso. I can't give you an iso link because I could get in trouble.

GitHub user Roeming created a Mario Superstar Baseball Model Extracting script, which extracts the models from the game.
